To start a scan open the Wizard within the software, select the drive or partition you wish to scan. If you are scanning the entire drive, the scan will start the moment you select Next. If you are scanning just the partition, you will be asked if you would like to run a Quick scan or a Deep scan. The quick scan is ideal for a hard drive that is failing to boot to an operating system or has been corrupted by a virus, while the Deep scan will recover any files it recognizes from the raw sectors on the drive.
