How to Run Repair on a Drive

The Repair utility can be used to attempt to fix most kinds of logical file and folder errors on a drive. Repair should be run whenever Drive Genius or DrivePulse notifies you of a Consistency Check failure.

Note: To run a Repair on your internal startup drive, you will need to boot from a secondary location such as another computer or by creating and using our BootWell utility.

To repair a drive, select the drive from the left of the Drive Genius Window that you’d like to repair, then select the ‘Repair’ utility in the Protect section of the feature window as shown below:

After selecting the Repair utility, press the ‘Start’ button in the lower right to begin the Repair process.
