I was helping a MacBook Pro customer today who received and early warning from DrivePulse that there were preference files on his Mac HD that may be corrupted. He was not sure how to remove them and called up the Prosoft Technical Support team for some help.
It is important to remove damaged/corrupted preference files because they may cause errors or crashes with the associated application. I guided him to use Drive Genius 3’s Verify Preferences tool to search for these corrupted preferences. When the search completed, he was able to remove all of the corrupted plist files and was able to relaunch the associated applications without any issues. He was very happy that Drive Genius 3 was able to detect the issue before he even experienced any of the negative effects.
