Today I will address a commonly asked question for Data Rescue 3 for Mac .

I have been asked almost on a daily basis about Data Rescue 3 not being able to scan a drive because Data Rescue 3 says “invalid workspace”.  In order for Data Rescue 3 to run a scan, it does require a destination drive to use for the recovery process. Data Rescue 3 or any other data recovery software will require a separate physical drive to recover to because if you save the recovered data to the same drive, then you run the risk of overwriting the files you are trying to recover.  Data Rescue 3 calls a destination drive “workspace”.
