One of the popular backup types in Data Backup 3 is the Versioned Backup which allows you to create an exact copy of your backup source as well as saving older versions of the data that you can restore from. Today I helped a customer who had been creating a Versioned Backup of his Mac hard drive but was starting to run low on space on his external backup drive. He was not sure what to do and wanted to avoid having to get a new larger hard drive.
I was able to help him to remove some of the older versions of his backups to help clear some space. Then I showed him how to adjust the backup preferences in Data Backup 3 so he could reduce the number of versions that are kept. These changes helped him save a lot of space on his backup drive and he is glad that he doesn’t have to worry about the drive becoming full again for a while.
