A. Booting from a secondary Mac

If you have another Mac available to you, this is a fast way to boot up Drive Genius 3 and access all the features to run on your main boot drive. To boot from a second Mac, you will be using what is referred to as FireWire Target Disk Mode.

Booting from a Second Mac, aka FireWire Target Disk Mode

  1. Turn off the machine with the hard drive you want to work on.
  2. Connect both machines using a firewire cable.
  3. Boot the secondary Mac as you do normally.
  4. Boot the machine with the hard drive you want to work on, while holding the "T" key.
    Hold the "T" key until you see a FireWire icon floating across the screen.
