Love this software, highly recommended!
Peter

This product (Data Rescue) REALLY works!!! It will restore you files with their content and correct file name (most other software will not restore the file name which makes the whole process VERY PAINFULL). And I was able to recover BIG files (+10GB) which is usually very difficult! Love this software, highly recommended!

Your Perfect Companion!
Zack

Deleted Files? No Worries! Data Rescue Is Your Perfect Companion!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for Data Rescue
Aron Morris

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for Data Rescue. Apple couldn't retrieve my files and handed back my dead drive. With your software and a USB drive adapter, I saved everything 100% intact.

I recommend Data Backup 3 highly.
DHK

I switched to Data Backup 3 from a competitor that did not allow me to change the parameters of a backup. I had to delete the backup parameters and start over. Data Backup 3 DOES allow you to make these changes without having to start all over. I then had a problem with running Applescript after the backup ended, and Tech Support was quite good in getting my information and providing a solution. I recommend Data Backup 3 highly!

The software is unbelievable!
Federico Muchnik

The software is unbelievable! Thank you for making it.

It was worth every penny!
Russ Toll

I just wanted to let Prosoft know how appreciative I am of the Data Rescue PC3 data recovery software. It was worth every penny! I'm usually very good about backups and was using Lenovo's Rescue and Recovery software on my Thinkpad to create a backup. Unfortunately, the Lenovo R&R software is pretty bad (read the forums about it afterwards) and it rendered my drive unreadable. I thought I lost everything. Everything includes pictures of my kid, pictures I took in Iraq of friends who didn't make it back, pictures of my wife's grandparents as well as mine, now passed away. These things are a lot more than just data and bits, they're our family identity. I was devastated and talked to the IT guy where I worked and he recommended the Prosoft's software. I thought $100 was a lot of money, expecting to get back maybe 10-20% of the data at best. It got it all back, all 300 GB. Like I said, worth every penny (wish I could bill it to Lenovo). I rarely write a company but you guys came through for me on such an important job that I had to let you know. I'll recommend you to anyone in a similar spot in the future. Well done and thank you very much!

Hot Diggity Dog, we be jammin' now.!!!
C.F. Holland

Ok, I'm impressed….Intuitive, Quick, Accurate, Thorough..!! Used Data Rescue 3 on some old failed HDSD cards from different cameras, some old, and some new. 3 of 5 cards would mount but appeared empty when opened. Data Rescue 3 recovered 99.9% of the JPEGs and TIFFs, all of the WAVs, MPEG 3s, 4s, and QuickTime from all 5 cards…..Hot Diggity Dog, we be jammin' now.!!! So a big tip of the hat to you all at Prosoft, and the next round of late night Red Bulls, Jolt Colas and Jalapeno Cheese Nachos is on me….Thanks Folks..!, C.H. PS, I was kidding about the food and drink, that stuff will kill you, and you make such good software…B^)…ch

You guys are awesome!
Luke Bragg

ProSoft Folks You guys are awesome! I want to count the ways but first the backstory. I use a 2010 iMac as a secondary computer. The other day I was cleaning it up in prep for installing Mavericks. I uninstalled a whole bunch of apps and ran some MainMenu scripts to clean up the catch, etc. When I restarted I got a gray screen and then the computer automatically shut off. Over and over again. There were only a few files/folders that were important to me and they had not yet synced via dropbox. I jumped online on a different Mac and tried a few things to no avail. I then searched for a data recovery software…. 1) Your website is awesome Yours was not the first software I looked at. But your website did exactly what it needed to do for your target audience; it gave me piece of mine. The FAQs and support page for Data Rescue 3 were useful and obviously someone had put in that extra bit of effort (screenshots, clear steps) to make it a valuable resource. Your website was the real differentiator for me. 2) Providing a fully functional demo version is smart business. But you already knew that. With this kind of software it was important to me that it worked and more importantly showed me it worked before purchasing. I ran the scan, recovered a file, saw the others I wanted, and then making the purchase was a no-brainer. It was the best $99 I’ve spent in a long time. 3) Your customer support was incredibly helpful even before I made the purchase. I had a rough time making the bootable DVD via an even older iMac. I called your tech support bright and early Monday morning and the gentlemen I spoke to was patient, knowledgeable, and very anxious to solve my problem. That is more rare than you know. Please buy this gentlemen a beer! I’m recovering my data right now and then I’ll do a clean install of Mavericks. Problem solved, crisis averted, and I’ll recommend your products whenever I can. I thank you! Kindest Regards Luke Bragg lucasbragg@gmail.com

Thank you very much!
Luke Creek

After reformatting my external HD by accident, your Data Rescue production did exactly what it says on the tin. Thank you very much! From a very happy Customer!

I am a big fan of Prosoft Engineering
Rich Vermillion

I am a big fan of Prosoft Engineering's product "Drive Genius 3," and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others. It is the best all-in-one suite of utilities for the Mac hard drives, and one of only three utilities that I habitually use to keep our Mac humming along nicely. However, I do have a few feature requests for Prosoft, whenever they are getting near updating this excellent suite of utilities: (1) I would really like to see two things in the Drive Slim utility: (a) A file count that shows total files on the drive and the number scanned thus far. This would make our lives much easier in estimating how much longer I might have to wait for the scan to complete. (b) If they would alter the "cancel" function of Drive Slim to allow the files found thus-far to still remain in the list, so that the user has the option of sliming the drive with what it has found so far, if the person needs to interrupt the scan so that they can get on to other things. I just ran a scan for nearly two hours, and had over 12GB of data found, but I had no idea how much longer this would take. So I cancelled the scan to get on to other things and discovered to my dismay that I had just lost all the results up until that time. To use a farming metaphor, it is like a farmer losing his entire crop just because he could not get it all harvested by sunset. This is simply nonsensical, and I think it would be VERY helpful if Prosoft would enable users to "reap" the present results that are found in a scan that needs to be cancelled. # 1 above seems to me to be the simplest change. My second and third suggestions are probably a bit more complicated, however: (2) A drive optimization feature that goes beyond simple defragmention would be nice. I know that Windows based utilities (e.g., System Mechanic, which is my top PC-utility) offer an optimization feature that prioritizes files on the hard drive for optimal performance. It seems to me that this would be handy on the Mac side of things too, as I am quite sure some files are accessed far more frequently than others, or that grouping certain files into clusters would accelerate the launching of applications, etc. (3) The ability to do diagnostics on PC drives would be marvelous. I hate having to switch to a Virtual or physical PC to diagnose PC drives, and given the number of cross-platform users out there, it seems that this would be a useful feature to offer Mac users. :) Thank you for hearing my suggestions, and thank you even more for a great product! :D

Saved my bacon at least twice!!
Roger Kiely

Saved my bacon at least twice!! Hadn't backed up in a while and the drive started acting funny--was able to get the data before all was lost!

NEVER download scammy apps like MacKeeper
Dave Chisholm

Recovering important data files deleted by MacKeeper! Which also has a tendency to delete important system files too, which is why Mac users should NEVER download scammy apps like MacKeeper when there are real, effective utilities available!

Thanks for the great rescue app
Toni Josevski

I've been using it for 3 years and always done its job flawlessy. Last time I was using it was a week ago, i was formating my usb 3.0 external 3TB hard drive and ended up unusable, Mac OSX coulnd't mount it and acess it- but hey no worries Data Rescue 3 is there. I just want to say THANK YOU to you guys! you made my day! I'd like to tell you a STORY OF SUCCESS related to your amazing sw data rescue 3. Yesterday I was using my mac as usual and I was downloading my pics from my iphone to iPhoto. due to the fact I have all my pics on my mac since 1999 I decided to put my iphoto library to an external HD. To make a long story short... at a certain point I wasn't able to use my external HD anymore.. it just disappeared.. i tried everything to recover it but without success. finally I googled around and I found your sw. I'm still at 53% of my recovery HD but my iphoto library has been already recovered and this should make you guys proud of your job!!!! YOU GUYS, YES YOU, SAVED ALL MY MEMORIES!!!!! I will always be grateful for what you guys created!!!! THANKS!!!!!!

Data Rescue PC3 is outstanding and saved me hundreds of dollars
Terry Dyson

Data Rescue PC3 is a great software. I dropped my laptop and it would not boot up. The laptop was replaced and I was given the hard drive. Windows nor Linux would read the hard drive even though it would spin. I tried Data Rescue PC3 demo and it read the hard drive. I then purchased Data Rescue PC3 and was able to download the files that I needed. Data Rescue PC3 is outstanding and saved me hundreds of dollars and weeks of time by not having to send my hard drive off to have my files retrieved. If your hard drive has crashed, it is worth the time and effort to try Data Rescue PC3 to see if your files can be retrieved. Thank you. Terry Dyson Principal 4-D USA, Inc.

Data Rescue 3 came highly recommended

Data Rescue 3 came highly recommended and it did everything I expected and asked of it. I readily add my high recommendation. Ernest Kurtz

MediaTools Wipe This is the best wipe software.

This is the best wipe software which I never come across. I paid USD 99 for a copy. It works excellent and it takes only 9 hrs to wipe out Lacie 2TB bigdisk for 1 single pass. I will try out all other methods when I have spare time. This is the software every body needed for his/her protection of piracy in hard drive. Someday when you are going to sell your computer or portable storage, you will need it. And it will protect your private information such as MP3, MP4, personal photos to be stolen!

very fast and easy.
Kay Speranza

Data Rescue 3 found the drive and recovered my photos and files very fast and easy.

I heartily recommend them.
Barry B

I recently managed to mess up the installed program and got immediate and FREE help from Samantha at Prosoft Engineering. This involved downloading an uninstall program and a new version of the application. I heartily recommend them.

Data Rescue 3 came to my rescue!

Data Rescue is the real deal
Joe

I have a Newertech Guardian Maximus with 2x2TB drives in a RAID 1 on Macbook Pro 2011 13" running 10.8.3. I turned on the drive and got the dreaded "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer." I saw the "rebuild" light blink but the drive indicators did not go red to indicate which drive was dead. I tried Disk Utility but couldn't see the drives. Both drives were damaged. I removed the drives and put them in a Black X USB docking station but the same error showed up. I tried Stellar Phoenix Mac Data Recovery. Didn't work. I spent $108 on Disk Warrior but DW doesn't even see the drive. I finally ran Data Rescue 3 and it saw the drive in quickscan mode and allowing me to copy files file by file/folder by tolder to a secondary 2 TB drive. I am using 2 USB 2 external enclosures and after 32:43:51 hours I have recovered 1.8 out of 1.9 TB of personal photos, work photos, audio files, etc. to a new drive and about to head to BH Photo to buy five new 2 TB drives. I can't thank Prosoft enough. Data Rescue is the real deal and takes the sting out of spending $108 for the overhyped Disk Warrior. I also saved $2000+ now that I don't have to send it to Drivesavers etc. My nephew is turning three very soon. Very glad the digital memories we have of him will be preserved for years to come thanks to Prosoft.

Surprise!!!
Al Woodcock

I have used Drive Genius for years with no problems. When I switched to a new iMac running Snow Leopard and boosted memory to 20GB, DG 3.2.2 and earlier versions would not verify or repair any of my external hard drives. I did my best to solve the problem and dutifully read the FAQs on their web site, but reluctantly turned to customer support on line. Surprise!!! I had an response in less than 30 minutes and the support guy, Abu, exchanged several emails as we worked through the analysis. The final outcome may be helpful if you run into this problem-"There is a bug in Snow Leopard on macs that have over 16GB of ram installed, the behavior is what you are seeing in Drive Genius 3.This bug was fixed in Lion and Mountain Lion." Luckily I have Mountan Lion on a separate partition and can switch to it if I need to repair something.

Thank you Prosoft.
S. Cullo

I didn't think this kind of rescue was possible. It was a worst case scenario: In my haste to format a 2GB SD card, I accidentally clicked on my 2TB Video drive and hit "erase". BOOM. I had erased thousands of pictures and video's that WERE NOT backed up (let's not even discuss that - it happens) To make a long story short, I bought Data Rescue 3 and hooked the erased 2 TB drive up to my laptop with a 2TB USB drive and started the program. After an almost 24 hour scan it seemed to find EVERYTHING and more. It found 3.4TBs of info. It was recreating things that hadn't been on the drive for AGES. In another day and a half, it recreated and copied everything I wanted to a new USB drive. I'm still stunned and eternally grateful that this was even possible. Thank you Prosoft. : >

Just recovered 50+ photos!
Christian Calx

Just recovered 50+ photos from a faulty SDHC card taken from a unique front-row Norah Jones concert! Thank you for Data Rescue 3 for Mac! :)

LIFE SAVER!!!!!!!!!!
Lisa D.

LIFE SAVER!!!!!!!!!! I somehow deleted my entire iphoto library with 4600 picture.... After talking to Apple they suggested Data Rescue 3 which I then bought and had over nighted to me. After installing I called the help line and spoke to a very knowledgeable young man named Jeremy. He was patient and understanding and went through tings step by step with me. I called him daily for 5 days as the process was very long and might I ad very successful!!!!!!! I'm still sorting through pictures but at least I have them. I would HIGHLY recommend this product it was unbelievable. Thanks Jeremy!!!!!

A life saver!
B.White

My apple computer was corrupted and needed to have data rescue. Apple actually sent me the software, Data Rescue 3, to use. I called the customer service and got a most helpful man, Abu. He was patient, kind and understanding and helped me to recover most of what I had lost. This process took place over three days and every time I called, Abu was wonderful. In fact, the last time I called and I got another customer service representative, I asked if I could continue with Abu. And, he called me back half an hour later. I did not recover absolutely everything on my hard drive, but he helped me to recover the bulk of it. He his worth his weight in gold! I absolutely, unequivocally recommend this company, their software and their representatives.

Great product, amazing customer support

Deleted some emails from my pop account by accident and didn't know where to turn - what a relief to go online and find that Data Rescue is the perfect solution to recovering files you thought you deleted forever. Data Rescue 3 recovered all of the files I needed and their customer service was A++. I had several questions and was able to call multiple times to speak with Jeremy, a super helpful representative. This is the best money I've ever spent and has saved me the heartache of losing invaluable emails. Thank you Data Rescue 3!!!

Highly recommended
Doc on Mac

A friend of mine recently accidentally re-formatted his External Hard Drive which contained all his iTunes Music library and media. As a long time user of Drive Genius, last night, I purchased Data Rescue 3, ran it all night and recovered all 115GB of his music, and I have now imported the music back into iTunes. I have never ventured into data recovery before, but I have to say that your program is not only effective, but also very intuitive to use. I didn't have time to read the full manual. Just used the deleted Items scan. It took about 7 hours to scan and about 4 hrs to recover. I love the way the recovered files are shown in Folders, in this case Music, with each type nested inside, i.e. MP3, AIFF, etc It even restored the song and album name, and the artwork artwork! Needless to say we are both very impressed with Data Rescue! Good value for money

Thank you for a great product.
Kevin

Thank you for a great product. Just to let you know. My issue of data loss was due to the fact that I had a drive booted to OS X and thought it was in power off mode; I had switched the drive as I had done many times. Only this time, the unit was not off and my have been in sleep mode. As such the drive now connected was partially update with the old drives catalog and it got corrupted. ( none of the files I need were changed so I knew I needed something that could find them). The drive could not be mounted, but your software sill was able to build the cluster that I needed. I found your product, out of several, was the only one that was able to see the volume and how it it should look like and I was able to recover my files. The price was similar for each and although I had older backups it was nice to know I could find a solution that was not out of reach of my budget to do a recovery project. Thanks again.

simple review - it just works 100%

I don't need this software very frequently, but when files get lost / deleted it always works perfectly. The interface is simple and effective: put the errant drive in a USB enclosure, connect to my iMac, select the drive and then scan with various options. The lost files invariably re-appear and can be recovered. Superb piece of software. The Prosoft Customer Support is excellent too.

Thanks guys!
Bryan Williams

I downloaded and tried several of the top digital picture recovery demo's I could find. Klix-Digital Picture Recovery Software is the fastest and easiest to use out of all of them. It works great and now I'm glad to have my pictures back after an accidental reformat. Thanks guys!

The product is absolutely great
Richard

I have used Drive Genius for several years on a variety of MACs and several different operating systems. The product is absolutely great and has solved many problems as well as preventing many. Their support system is top notch. I recently contacted Mike for a small problem -- his response was polite and business-like and his follow-up was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Prosoft!

Thanks to Prosoft for the product-- Data Rescue 3
Rama

Hello Prosoft, Thanks to Prosoft for the product-- Data Rescue 3--which retrieved some precious documents and software that I had developed, putting in almost two weeks of work, before I accidentally deleted the files and discovered that my backups were not working! Your product is superb, and probably the only product that I have seen over the past few years that really works on the Mac OS (and on Lion!), and works efficiently and fast in terms of recovering files that have been accidentally trashed. I have been searching for an efficient solution for a while since I have been in this situation before, and spent $$ on products that your competitors seem to have a lock on (in terms of Google search results), and all to no avail. In fact, your unique feature (learning file signatures) is what saved the day for me since my software has custom file structures and extensions! Best regards, Rama

Keep producing software that is a life preserver.
Michael Kleper

While babysitting our grandson, our memory card somehow got corrupted. Klix recovered all of the images quickly and easily. We're grateful. Keep producing software that is a life preserver in deep and dangerous digital waters.

Data Rescue is AMAZING!!
AG

My entire iPhoto library was mistakenly trashed, disposing of over 4,000 family photos and videos . . . absolutely devastating. Apple recommended Data Rescue, and it works!! I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of customer service and support at ProSoft--especially Mike, who was tremendously helpful in directing me through the process of safely installing the software, activating the program and then navigating my recovered files. I am still sorting through thousands of files that have been retrieved from my trash, and I can't believe how many images AND videos have been recovered completely intact. I am thrilled, to say the least!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DATA RESCUE!

Data Rescue 3 does the job, time and time again....,
Mitch Man

I've been using Data Rescue over several years and the various versions and can't praise it enough for how extremely well it works. What's especially critical, when dealing with "cranky" drives or other ailing media is that the recovery application stay STABLE and not crash, as some recovery attempts I've made can take several days at least(!) Data Rescue comes thru time and time again, it's stable, works as advertised and as long as your drive or media hasn't already completely flat-lined i.e. no software can resurrect the piece of computer hardware that no longer functions AT ALL, you'll get back those files you're looking for... and most often in a nice meaningful and orderly way too! Great software and fantastic customer support if you need it.. WELL worth the cost of admission, even for Joe or Betty home-user. If you need to use software like this even once, it's more than paid for itself already...

Life saver (at least, business saver),
Russel

My wife's mac failed to boot up a week before 2 seminars she is supposed to teach. She had not made any backups of the material, and there was not nearly time to recreate it. Her Mac does not have firewire, and it was (of course) Friday night, no support available until Monday. I sent in a help request Saturday morning and got back an answer only an hour later, from one of the support people who just logged in to check. He solved our problem, we downloaded the boot disk, and all the data was recovered, only one day lost. The software works, the support is strong, this may be the best $99 my wife has spent for her business. I would imagine ratings for this type of software are either 5 ("it recovered my data") or 0 ("Rotten program didn't do anything"). Judging from the ratings our successful experience is the normal result. Highly recommended!

Saved my life !! Amazing product
PL

DATA RESCUE 3 saved my life ! I unfortunately deleted my 12T RAID5 PROMISE (i'm stupid) when i tried DR3 before killing myself ! It took around 3 weeks but i recover all my files successfully ! It's a great great product and the tech support are really competent ! Don't kill yourself before you try it !!

Greatest Software Of All Time!!!
Topher James

Data Recover 3 a.k.a. "G.S.O.A.T. (Greatest Software of All Time)" 36 Hours ago life was good, very good. 35 Hours ago it got bad. I was frantically searching for my latest backup realizing that my latest backup was 1 week old. (I hear you saying, no biggie... 1 week, how much could you have possibly lost in 1 week?). What I didn't tell you is that I prepare income taxes for a living and it was the second week of April (Deadline only 1 week away).. This represented 50 client tax files. NONE of which had a printed copy because the taxes were in a holding pattern for either signature documents or for more information. Not only that, my appointment book is digital and I hadn't exported it for a week. SHAME ON ME! I took the computer to the store for repairs. They couldn't mount the drive and told me I should send it across the country to a data-recover center (who informed me it would cost $3000 for the service). I almost did it but decided against it because I was worried about compromising my clients data (SSNs, Bank account numbers, etc...). I almost dropped THREE GRAND on data-recovery services. My awesome wife found the trial of Data Recover 3. We downloaded it - and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the list of files populated on screen. I was able to pick one file to retrieve as part of the trial. I grabbed my appointment book - clicked 'recover' - and voila! It was back. I spent $99 on this AWESOME, AMAZING, WONDERFUL software. Within 10 hours everything was recovered. I love you. I love you! Yes I LOVE YOU!!! hahaha, you saved my A$$ and saved me $$$. Again, henceforth you shall re-title your software to simply: G.S.O.A.T. (Greatest Software of All Time).

Superb Customer Service
D. Sherwood

Have been using Drive Genius for several years and have always been very happy. But today, pulled the CD out of the case and found the serial number missing. Sent an email to customer support and within minutes Jeremy had emailed me back a number and I am going again. If only all service issues were like this......

Lifesaver
Darren

My 320gb hard drive on my MacBook pro went down. DR3 to the rescue and with some help from Jeremy @ Prosoft's customer support, every single file was recovered. If you're up the creek without a paddle, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Excellent Product
S. Cox

Drive Genius is highly recommended by Tech Support professionals. It works well and has a user-friendly interface. I had difficulty entering the serial number when I was creating a second startup disk on my Mac Pro 5,1. Jeremy at Prosoft Customer Support was polite and efficient, and solved my problem quickly. I appreciate such a positive support response.

Product saved us as did Abu!
Kathryn Dunnington

After our computer crashed and my well-meaning, but computer illiterate husband wiped everything away by reinstalling the original software, we were in a bit of a panic. The tech support at the Apple store was marginally helpful. My husband found this product and a very helpful tech-support person named Abu, who walked him through the process of recovering our lost files which included wedding, honeymoon, and a year and a half of baby pictures, an entire music library, and an irreplaceable spreadsheet of remodel costs. Now we can get on with life and BACK UP our stuff. Abu was very patient with our panic and lack of tech savvy, and very nice and, most importantly, helpful!!

Prosoft is a Great Tool!
Dan

Thank you for providing the tool to enable recovery of my data from 2011. I made the mistake of backing up my old laptop and my old hard drive (instead of my new hard drive). Of course, my just out of warranty laptop and hard drive crashed (before backup- my bad) instead of my old hard drive which i was backing up. Prosoft is a Great Tool! It's been a-while since I went under the covers to recover data from a hard drive. Sometimes we forget what happens to all our "advanced" technology when it only take one "flip of a bit" to turn our multi-GB/TB data to "scrambled eggs"... Thanks again! Dan

Worth Every Penny!
Caleb Rodriguez

I am not much on words, but I MUST say that this company PROSOFT has the best customer service that I have experienced. I really appreciate people like Jeremy and the team that went above and beyond to make sure that I was able to use their products. Drive Genius is a tool that every Mac owner should own. It is a valuable set of tools that helps your drive work well and stay that way. Drive Genius is also able to detect problems with your hard drive and keep your drive running smoothly. Thank you again for such a worth while product and especially your superb customer support.

7 Years of family images gone! Never, thanks to Prosoft
Ian

Data Rescue 3 along with Abu's patient assistance whenever things took a turn around the wrong corner made the 2011/2012 crazed new year feel like there is hope. Many phone calls to Apple confirmed that my family images were not to be found. Prosoft was recommended for the daunting task ahead. Every time I needed assistance from Prosoft, the waiting time on the phone was minimal and my "key" person Abu was available immediately most of the time. I can not put into words the piece of mind when familiar images finally materialize for sorting and weeding out the keepers from the unnessary memory hogs that I don't need. It will not be a very quick process but, we all have to settle down and do some "spring cleaning" in life once in awhile. Thank you again Abu and Prosoft for your professional direct and to the point care. You really made my new year start off in a better direction!

Gave me hope!
Sean Wright

I recently really screwed up my MacBook Pro with Boot Camp by overwriting the Mac partition as a Windows backup drive. I was sure all my files were gone until I got Data Rescue 3. With it an a borrowed MacBook from a friend I've managed to salvage most of my files (I'm still looking through what it has found and recovered). If all else fails get this, it really works. In addition Michael was a big help in saving my money with the downloadable version rather than rush delivering it. He's helped me through the process and is quick with responding to emails.

Great customer support!

Having previously used Drive Genius 2, I took the upgrade path and installed version 3. Initially had problem with the old spinning disk and application not responding but after firing off a mail to the support team, I was advised by Jeremy on how to remove the legacy items (pre Lion) that were causing the issue and now working great. I like the new feature of being able to work on the boot disk without creating a DVD. I would recommend this product to others especially on Macs that have been running a while - mine was 50% fragmented when I started.

This will save your arse!
Mrs. Frances Taylor

What can I say? It saved my arse and is worth every penny. A corrupted camera memory card was filled with photos from a never-to-be-organised-party. When Lightroom and the camera said "what photos?", I cried. After some digging with Data Rescue 3, I got the whole lot back in perfect RAW form. I can't thank the guys who wrote this software enough.

I am an Audiophile and I love Hear!
Adrienne Davis

I am a dyed-in-the-wool audiophile. I chose an Audi A4 over a BMW 325i because the Audi came with a Bose stereo, that's how important quality audio is to me! So when I found Hear for Mac and installed it, it took me all of an afternoon to know I was buying this. I take my MBP with me to work everyday to give me some background music to work by. Even using only the built-in speakers on the Macbook sounds fantastic. When I use either my Skullcandy headphones or my Harmon Kardon Soundsticks Hear takes things to some whole other level! Whether I'm listening to Mark Knopfler make his guitar cry and sing or listening to remasters of 60 year old recordings of Furtwangler conducting the Vienna Philharmonic I can hear every note, catch every nuance, and enjoy every last minute of my music. Thank you, thank you, thank you! If you love music, hell if you merely *like* music, get Hear and experience what you've been missing!

Tech Support
Darrell

Came home from a movie and my laptop had a notice of immediate demise, repair immediately! I've just recently installed Lion so I knew my version of Drive Genius most likely would not work. Went to the Prosoft website and checked for an update, and there was a free update available. I down loaded the upgrade but I knew I would have to do a reboot repair and there was a link for a bootable version. I down loaded that but it didn't work so I emailed tech support that night and in the morning I had a good link made available to me that worked perfectly. Repaired drive and everything is great! Thank you Abu!

Helped to fix stupid (me)!
E.Fan

Great software! The Verify and Repair functions work great as well as the Defragmenter. I'm currently using it on an iMac 27 inch 11, 1 machine which falls under the late-2009 models with OS X 10.6.8 and bootcamped Windows 7 Ultimate. Obviously this wouldn't work on the boot camp partition. Boot-ing from the DVD disk wasn't favorable for me. It took an extremely long time using version 3.1.2 burnt from an image. I originally purchased version 3, and then paid extra from the software's website for downloadable image and to get the DVD disc already updated in the mail). I think wait time has more to do with system limitations so I don't feel I could knock stars off of this review. I find that a better way is to boot from a cloned drive via firewire 800 on an external drive and then run Drive Genius from there on my system's Mac OS partition. I've been using Super Duper to perform nightly bootable clone backups of my Mac OS X partition. Carbon Copy Cloner would also probably work. Here comes the stupid thing I did and how Drive Genius 3 fixed it: I have an external hard drive that is formatted NTFS compressed. Lots of data that I haven't backed up or cloned yet. Been putting it off because it's almost 2 TB worth and I would need to buy another hard drive. One of things I had on it was a straight copy of some Windows system files from my old Vaio when XP was still around. I was loaded up in OS X and decided to put it in the Trash and then empty. It started to load up the number of files which well exceeded 3000 and I received the almost Windows Blue Screen of Death equivalent of "You need to restart your computer...Please hold down the power button for at least 5 seconds.." Why'd I copy Windows system files to a backup drive and then trash them in Mac OS X? Re-read this review's title. My options at this point I thought were back up what I needed and format the drive, and put them back. Or spend hours clicking away on each file in the Trash to return them to their point of origin and then Recycle them in Bootcamp Booting up in Windows to trash the items without first returning the files to point of origin wouldn't help because Mac OS X hid the files on the drive in a place that Windows couldn't readily see. There's probably a workaround but I didn't know of one at the time. I tried using Norton 360 5.0 and Windows' repair function. Between the two the only thing that got fixed was the file system instability caused from me doing a forced system turn off. I wouldn't call it a shutdown because I think on the Mac side it's pretty much the same as pulling the power cord). So what to do? Well, I stumbled upon Drive Genius's Secure Erase function when I right clicked on a file in the trash can. I probably would've been more aware of this feature if I had actually read the manual. I tested this on a few individual files. Didn't take long to get them out of the trash can. I then quickly worked my way up to higher level folders of the mess I created. All was well. I decided to just go ahead delete the top most folder that housed the vast majority of the mess that was still there. Took some time as it was over a 1 GB with over 5000 files. Afterwards, no screen of death! I think part of Drive Genius's success in this function is that it doesn't attempt to load up and analyze all the trashed files before starting the process like the Mac OS system's empty trash function does, so therefore it doesn't get overloaded and crash the machine from looking at a huge number of Windows files that it probably wouldn't understand. I purchased this from a different site as an add on to a HD enclosure purchase at a steal for $39. Amazon's price is steep I think but I think considering the product's value, it's worth it.

Dominate your hard drive
D. Greenbaum

Drive Genius 3 is ProSoft Engineering's latest version of its drive manipulation and maintenance application. If you can do it to a hard drive, Drive Genius supports it with an attractive and intuitive interface. The program requires an Intel Mac running Leopard and 512 MB of RAM as well as a DVD drive for some functions. The program has two basic components. First is DrivePulse. Drive Pulse runs as a background app constantly checking all your hard drives for basic problems relating to drive and file integrity. This early warning system is optional and doesn't work well when someone isn't an administrator of their computer. For users who absolutely rely on their computer, DrivePulse will help detect small problems before they become big problems. In particular, the fact it can monitor your locally attached Time Machine backup really helps prevent data loss. The main program includes a suite of utilities that goes way beyond the basic initialization, repair, secure erase and partitioning that Apple's Disk Utility offers. Although most of these functions have to be run off another computer or mounted via a DVD, Drive Genius has it's proprietary "DriveSlim" function that can help shrink a drive that is overrun with unnecessary language files (called "localizations") as well as remove bloated code that won't run on the selected system (primarily intel vs. non-intel systems). Many functions cannot be performed off a booted volume and you may have to download a bootable DVD for an extra fee if the shipped version of Drive Genius doesn't support your computer. While the fee is only $5.00, it is nonetheless annoying. Typical of most drive programs, Drive Genius includes functions to benchmark, clone, defrag and edit sectors. Most of Drive Genius's function could be cobbled together with third party and Apple's utilities, but with Drive Genius you get centralized support and a easy to follow pdf manual. All utilities are presented in an extremely stylized and Mac-like interface that is most reminiscent of Apple's Cover Flow combined with multi-colored graphs. The program's key functions are 64-bit, making it much more efficient for longer operations. According to ProSoft, Apple's own Geniuses use Drive Genius as part of a ProCare yearly tuneup. Pros: Extensive suite of utilities attractively presented and easy to use Cons: Many functions require booting off a DVD or external drive, may have to pay extra fee for bootable DVD image.

Geek Squad wasn't able to help, but Data Rescue saved the day!
Bobby Carp

My Western Digital MyBook USB 2TB drive with all of my pictures just decides one morning that it is not readable by my iMac any longer. I have the pictures backed up from 4 months ago, but will lose all of this summer's pictures. Disk Utility and Disk Warrior cannot do anything with the drive. I take it to Geek Squad and 10 days later they tell me the same thing. They cannot read any data off of the drive. I bring the drive home and Google about data recovery and find great testimonials about Data Rescue 2 and 3. I decide to give it a try. DR 3 tells me it sees the drive, but is getting slow read errors on the drive and I should clone it. I clone the drive and then DR 3 is able to see the files on the drive and recover all of my pictures! This is a fabulous product, thank you!!!

Just What My MacBook Pro Needed!
Geoff Nelson

I've had my MacBook Pro for a little over two years, and though I'm running the most current OS, and have kept up with Apple's excellent updates, I needed a utilities application that does more than Mac's "Disc Utility" application. Drive Genius 3 has met, and even exceeded, my expectations! DG3 has a veritable "treasure chest" of utilities for keeping your Mac's hardware and software running in tip-top shape. Along with a great product, I also commend ProSoft's user support team. I received answers to questions that arose as I began using the software. And when I encountered difficulty burning the DG3 bootable DVD, I received prompt and knowledgeable assistance from Jeremy, one of ProSoft's Support team members. "Five Stars" for an excellent product and an agile and professional support team!

Great product, great support!
Rich

I had been having some problems and getting some hard drive error messages even though my MacBook Pro was only 2 months old. I decided to take a chance and by the Drive Genius program. Being somewhat of a novice to the Mac, I was unclear on some of the utilities functions. I called and received excellent customer support. The tech walked me through it, addressed all the problems and they haven't been back. I was very impressed by the program and the tech support. Glad I decided to buy it.

Well worth every cent!
Mark Sealy

I was wary of relying on Drive Genius - for years, actually; but I finally started using it recently. It has already paid for itself. The premise behind DG is a very sound one. The execution is excellent. The documentation is clear and comprehensive. It's certainly a product that will help with prevention, recovery and (routine) maintenance of (in my case OS X) drives with no apparent ill effects. The technical support is exceptional... quick, friendly, very very knowledgable. The support staff really care and are usually able to solve anything you throw at them. It's a well-positioned product in an important area that does its job very well and can be recommended to all users.

Still the Best Utility for MAC
Keith W Seidel

I've read a few posts reporting the "DriveGenius-3 no longer works with the latest Macintosh computers". This is simply not so; however, unless you purchased 'DriveGenius-3' recently the earlier version probably will not. I had the same problem so I called ProSoft and within minutes I was downloading the updated bootable DVD software. Of course I still had to burn a new DVD but, hay, no cost to me and printable DVDs are cheap. DriveGenius is still have THE BEST UTILITY for the Mac. Thanks!

Support
Russell Devries

I used the new Drive Genius 3 to defrag my main Mac HD. Had a problem and their support people had it fixed with in hour. I have had Drive Genius for years and this new upgrade is very good and their support is excellent.

Overall Great Product
S. Fernandez

Just wanted to update the user community that the current shipping version of Drive Genius 3 will not boot from DVD with the newest Macs released after July 2009 including the i5 and i7 laptops. See the excerpt below straight from Prosoft's website. Drive Genius 3 is an excellent product. I have been using DG since version 2. However, much of the functionality is only available when booting from the DVD. Without this ability, the software is very limited. You can monitor your drives, but you can not repair them. "...At this time, the current boot technology provided by Apple is based off the 10.5.8 operating system and is capable of booting machines released up to June of 2009. Apple has not released a new DDK to help support machines newer than June of 2009, which include i5 and i7 machines. This means the newest machines will be unable to boot from the current Drive Genius 3 DVD until Apple releases the new Disk Development Kit."

Drive Genius 3 saved the day!
D. Everett

I upgraded from Mac Genius 2 to 3, after reading the review in Mac User (26:11). I got a hard drive corruption warning, not picked up by either Mac Genius 2 or TechTool 5. Attempts to restart the computer from DVD (either pressing C or ALT) failed, with Mac Genius 3, TechTool Pro 5, original Mac OS installation DVD and a replacement Mac OS DVD from Applecare. Attempts to backup from Time Machine also failed. Applecare (second call) recommended returning my iMac for a replacement hard drive. David at Mac Genius customer service recommended connecting the poorly iMac to my MacBook Pro via firewire (new style, smaller connector), and restarting the iMac in Target disc mode (restart pressing T) and using Mac Genius 3, installed on the MacBook Pro, (Mac Genius 3 has a 3 user agreement), to repair the iMac hard disc. I am very happy to report that this has worked and the computer runs perfectly, with no warnings. David explained that the current disc development kit released by Apple, will only allow Macs released before June 2009, to boot from DVD. This issue applies to all developers who use Apple's boot disk technology to run their software, including Alsoft (DiskWarrior) and MicroMat (TechToolPro). Apple has simply mentioned that the latest disk development kit will be released soon, but they have not provided us a release date. ProSoft Engineering (Mac Genius 3), have put me on the update list to receive the updated version of the DVD boot software as soon as Apple release it. TechTool Pro 5 contains the option of an e-drive, to restart without using the DVD, however this option was not available because I also run BootCamp. You get an error message if you attempt to set up e-drive on a Mac also running BootCamp. Applecare didn't appear to be aware of the DVD boot issue and it wasn't mentioned in the Mac User article. I am very impressed with both this product (Mac Genius 3) and the level of customer service from ProSoft Engineering.

What a Product!
Troy Lunt

What a product! After losing 27GB of photography work, i panicked! After some research i came across this software. I paid for it, downloaded it, and a few hours later, the files that provide for my families livelihood were back in my hands! What a relief! Great software for a great price! I will tell everyone i know about this! Thanks so much Prosoft!

Saved everything from crashed drive!
Doug

My drive that I had thousands of photos and videos on suddenly would not show up on my mac. After trying everything I could think of, I purchased Data Rescue 3. It took about 7 hours for the data to be transferred to the new drive. After it was done I tried to open some of the files, and they would not open! I should have read the instructions first, and recovered a couple of files, then checked them. Well, to make a long story short, I called the customer assistance line, and got a real human being on the phone! Mike had me explain what I had done, and then led me through how to change a setting. He stayed on the phone with me as I recovered 3 files, and checked them. The 3 files were good, so I then did the entire drive. Everything seems to be in good shape, with no data lost. I have to say I'm VERY IMPRESSED with Data Rescue 3, and the customer support they give. Thank you Mike! I highly recommend Data Rescue 3 to anyone who has a hard drive problem. Just remember to USE DATA RESCUE 3 BEFORE TRYING TO FIX YOUR DRIVE.. You are liable to overwrite valuable information and make recovery impossible if you don't.

Couldn't ask for anything more
Caleb Weeks

I accidentally deleted an important financial file with multiple hours of work put into it. Michael, from Data Rescue's customer support, went from, "Alright, let's see if we can get this way," all the way through multiple phone calls to help me think through all the possible ways of tracking it down. I called, he answered; we tried another thought process. I called again; he was always there. If you're like me, this is all you really could ask for when needing help finding/recovering something that you lost: someone to do it with you. Although mine was a unique situation, with one file to rescue, he gave me all the support and attention I needed to feel like I gave it my best shot to get the file back before realizing that I had probably overwritten the drive with other data. This was way beyond "standard" support and I believe it was his genuine care for me as a customer that makes this review easy to write. Thank you again, Michael, and if you want to check out their demo (I'm not getting any payment for this, etc.) the app is well done, thorough, and something that after using to find my file did not leave me wondering if I had done the best. I felt like the combination was the best I could have received. Data Rescue is the product at the top of my list for future needs! In my experience, I could not have asked for anything more.

Dying Drive
Joseph

Working with tech support on Data Rescue 3 has a piece of cake. They walked me through the backing up of my drive and testing the backup. They where very knowledgeable and their product worked like a charm.

Best $100 I've ever spent
Eric Manning

My hard drive crashed a few months ago and the only way to get my computer to work again was to have the hard drive erased, and a new operating system installed. I was warned that I would lose everything, which I did. I went to a few shops that specialize in Macs and told that they "might" be able to retrieve data and the cost would be several hundred dollars up to a thousand dollars just to "see" if any data could be retrieved. Luckily for me I waited. I saw Data Rescue 3 at the Apple Store and was immediately attracted to the low price (only $100) and I figured I would give it a shot before deciding to spend big bucks at one of the specialized Mac stores. I installed the software and ran the program overnight. When I woke up it had found all the data that I was hoping to retrieve (all my pictures from iPhoto). The software worked beautifully and seemlessly. Since i'm kind of computer illiterate I ran into a couple snags that were not the fault of Data Rescue. I was able to write a quick email to their support team and through a couple emails with Mike was able to resolve all my issues and I now seven years worth of data back. I highly recommend this product. eric

Amazing!
J Staskus

When told I would never be able to retrieve photos, which I unintentionally lost in my hard drive..... as well as some accidentally deleted from a flash card, I refused to believe it. "Data Rescue 3" by ProSoft Engineering...... I'm delighted to say..... was the answer. I was able to retrieve ALL my precious photos. I would highly recommend this software to anyone in need of retrieving lost files! It's well worth a try.

A Miracle Worker
Jeffrey Iseminger

When I accidentally "lost" some critical documents after emptying the trash, Apple support recommended Data Rescue 3 as a superior product. I feared the worst for my files, but decided to give Data Rescue 3 a try. I'm so glad I did, because I successfully recovered virtually every document I had lost! I only had one hitch in reformatting my jump drive as my "home folder," but Mike in customer support patiently led me through the process. Mike has been mentioned elsewhere here by name in customer reviews, and I add my vote for his great work and for a great piece of software!

Quick and easy
Artur Grabowski

The primary hard drive in my G5 failed. I ran a Data Rescue 3 Quick Scan and recovered 95%+ of my data. For some reason I had to run Quick Scan twice but program worked like a charm. Interface is very user friendly.

Saved my data
Kay Speranza

Data Rescue 3 worked great. I had an older Imac that I could not boot from the hard drive. Data Rescue 3 found the drive and recovered my photos and files very fast and easy.

Tremendous Customer Support
A Aragon

As a neophyte to complicated technical computer problem resolution, and I am just the type that finds themselves in trouble from time to time, Prosoft Data Rescue 3 Technical Engineering Customer Support representative Michael, made my day. I called at the "crack of dawn" with a list of questions and needed explanations and reassurances. Michael with the utmost patience took his time to carefully and clearly explained what to do, how to do it and then provided me with necessary information to complete my data retrieval on my own. His attention to advanced planning and a ready set of step-by-step instructions made my whole experience go from bad/terrible to Success and phenomenal! I highly recommend this product for data retrieval and know that their customer support representatives will be there for you if you need them. Ask for Michael, you wont be sorry!

DATA RESCUE 3 IS OUTSTANDING
Ann Silver

I thought I lost all my priceless photos from shoots around the world when they were accidentally trashed and then the trash emptied. In desperation, I bought Data Rescue 3. But when I could not get the software to work on my aging computer, mostly because of my lack of computer savvy, I called the company's technical support. Mike spent literally hours graciously helping me. Even when I was often impatient and willing to abandon the process, he kept encouraging me to continue. Thank goodness I did since I retrieved ALL of my photographs. I am so grateful not only for the excellent software, which would have been quite easy to use if I did not have my own issues, but for the excellent support I received. I highly recommend this product and this company.

Excellent! Recovered 40GB+ from my incorrectly formatted partition!
Phill

I made the mistake of formatting the wrong partition and wiped out my entire OSX. I used Data Rescue 3 and recovered over 40GB of data! What struck me the most about my experience is the customer service. I called twice (maybe three times) and the agent who I spoke with was GREAT. He walked me through everything I didn't know (I'm a PC guy who was fixing my wife's Mac, so I was completely lost). The software is very powerful; not only was I able to recover so much data, I was also able to make a copy of the HD before I reinstalled Snow Leopard (this way I would have an image of my HD just in case anything fishy happened after installing OSX).

Great customer service, great product.
Computer Illiterate

Data Rescue 3 salvaged a 150 page document for me and saved me from a full-blown nervous breakdown. The product was easy to use. I spoke with Mike, a Data Rescue customer service representative. He was helpful and patient with my questions. I am VERY happy to own this product.

Wonderful! Saved my Semester!
H. Jeffords

I had to buy this product because my cat walked across my laptop and managed to delete a semesters-worth of notes. With finals coming up, I had to look into data recovery and read about this product on the Apple website. I downloaded it directly from the manufacturers website, instead of waiting for a hard disk, and it was fairly simple. The manufacturer's price is higher, but I found a Twitter discount that brought the price down to Amazon's. Within two hours of running the program, I had found all of my notes and they were restored, no problem. Some notes: My hard drive was not corrupted and had not crashed. My situation was a simple deletion error (documents ended up in the "trash" and I cleared the trash without knowing they were in there). You would be surprised to see what stays on your computer long after you think it's gone, so I definitely recommend it if this is your issue! Also, you need at least 5 GB available on a different hard drive/memory source to run the program. The program cannot run on the same hard drive that needs scanning, so you need to either have: a usb flash drive, external hard drive, or an internal backup hard drive with 5 GB capacity or more. My MacBook Pro is only one internal hard drive, so I had to either buy a flash drive or external hard drive, and I went with the external option because I've been needing one anyways to backup my system. In addition, the files do not automatically return with their original file names, rather, mine were given numbers based on the order the program found them. The file size is shown next to the documents, so my trick was to look for the largest file sizes and open those (i.e. 284 kb versus 20 kb). I don't know if there is an option to change this setting, but I was only looking for three documents, so this was not an issue for me. I had probably 140 documents in the recovery folder, but most were actually older, "ghost" versions of the same documents that I had since overwritten with the new saves. I hope this helps!

Nice software
John

Software works as advertised. I downloaded the trial version and successfully recovered one file, then bought the full version to recover the rest of my failed hard drive. If you have a drive that's failing, start by making a clone of the drive. Allows for much quicker scans for lost files and it won't exacerbate the damage already done to the drive. The software is user-friendly and easy to use... best of all is the customer support. Prosoft was terrific every time I talked to them. Highly recommended for anyone with a failing or failed drive.

Buy it!!!
Terri

I bought the Date Rescue 3 for my Mac when I accidentally deleted my entire photo library off of my computer and then on top of that, emptied the "trash" on my Mac. BIG oops. When I bought the download version off of their website, I was able to use my brothers Mac for the 'target disk mode' option and recover all of my lost files directly onto a external hard drive. Not only did I recover all of my pictures, and them some, all the while I had unbelievable support from a great guy named Mike. The support at ProSoft is amazing. He emailed me step by step instructions since I had no idea what 'target disk mode' was, and he followed up on it, emailing back a few days later to check up on how things went. Best part of all, now I have this great program and support in case I were to need it ever again (knock on wood).

Worked like a dream plus awesome customer service to boot
Laura Scholes

I mistakenly backed up my MacBook Pro to the wrong hard drive (the one with all of my music and photos of my daughter) and was completely freaked out. Several websites recommended Data Rescue 3 so I decided to try it before taking it in to a repair shop and handing over what I knew would be WAYYY more than the price of the program. I emailed customer service with a question and heard back quickly from Michael, who then followed up with me several times making sure I was doing okay and even called me on the phone to explain a part of the process he thought I might have misunderstood (I had). Happy to say all of my music and images are now back on my drive, safe and sound.

Pro Soft Date Rescue 3 for Mac
Rain Girl

This program is amazing! I inadvertently deleted all of our vacation photos and was crushed. This software was suggested to me by Apple support- it was GREAT! All of my photos were recovered quickly and the customer support I received from ProSoft was very courteous, professional and helpful. A local camera store recovered some of the photos from the SD cards (using different software), but Data Rescue 3 found ALL of my photos - quickly! Don't send out your SD cards, just use this software first- it is easy to use, even a non-computer person like me found it simple to use.

3 Cheers for Data Rescue 3!
Robert Bloomberg

While working in Photoshop CS4 on my Mac I had an entire folder suddenly disappear without a trace. Both auto and manual searches of the drive came up empty and I was about to send the drive out to Drive Savers for an expensive repair operation when I remembered an old copy of Data Rescue on my shelf that had recovered files off a corrupt drive a few years ago. My copy was, unfortunately, long out of date, but a quick call to ProSoft got me upgraded to the current version which located and restored my missing folder and files. Michael in tech Support was knowledgeable, extremely patient and helpful. I only wish all my software worked as well as Data Rescue 3 and came with such great support. Can't rate them high enough.

Worked as Advertised
Luis Lamassonne

I had an External drive that I had reformatted using Disk Utility, I had subsequently used it as a Time Machine backup drive for a few weeks. When I realized that the files I needed where on the reformatted drive, I used Data Rescue and It took several hours BUT I GOT the files I needed back. It didn't recover all of the deleted files, but luckily the ones I needed were recovered!

It saved my entire movie, and several others
Daniel Parillis

My title says it all...I had two hard drives that were mirror images of each other, a terabyte in size each, which contained several Final Cut Pro projects, including an independent feature-length dramatic movie that I'd been working on for almost 3-1/2 years. I had a program called NTI Shadow that registered changes made between the two drives; when I saved something on one drive, NTI Shadow made that same change onto the second drive to back things up. Long story-short, I had to delete the second drive because of a space issue...the idea was that I would free up that backup drive, then RE-copy everything from the primary drive over to the second drive. I didn't realize it, but NTI Shadow, which I thought I'd quit, was still running in the background; when I deleted the second drive, NTI Shadow did its job, copying the changes to the first drive...wiping it out entirely as well. Before I realized what had happened, I had emptied my trash bin...and destroyed all my movie projects, including my BABY...only *DAYS* before I was submitting it to the Sundance Film Festival. After a minor nervous breakdown, I started Googling data recovery software, and discovered two recommendations; the first was called StellarPhoenix, and the second being Data Rescue 3. I tried StellarPhoenix first, and wasted days with it. It kept freezing and crashing. The interface was confusing. And, most of all, when I tried to get through to their tech support, no matter WHAT time of day (I tried morning, noon, night, and LATE night), I got a recording saying I was 3rd in line, 2nd in line, next in line...then the system would hang up on me...every single time, like clock-work. So I said "screw this" and tried Data Rescue 3. COMPETE difference. The interface was way more straightforward, and the program worked smoothly. When I tried calling tech support, they picked up right away, and I got tons of help and advice from a gentleman named Michael, who was super knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping me. He gave me his email and told me to contact him by phone or email with any questions I had, and true to his word, when I left him voice-mails and sent him emails over the course of the next week with various questions, he always called back and emailed back in less than 24 hours, often within *2* hours. And he called and emailed ME several times afterwards a few times, unprompted, to check in, ask about my progress, and to see if I had any further questions. My experience with him was fantastic. The program itself recovered a large percentage of my project and media files, a TERABYTE worth of stuff...enough that within only a few days after running my data recovery, I was able to completely restore my movie (I had to recapture a little bit of my footage and reconnect the media to replace stuff that wasn't recovered, but largely, most of it was intact). Thankfully, under the circumstances, Sundance gave me an extension on my submission deadline, and I got the movie submitted to them just in time. I absolutely recommend Data Recovery 3. The program did exactly as advertised, cleanly, effectively. It may not recover everything, but it will recover A LOT, if not everything, intact; for me, it covered about 85-90%, which saved me MONTHS of having to recapture and re-edit my entire movie. And equally important, Michael and the tech support helped me through this upsetting and confusing time, and helped me out the other side. I know this sounds like a glowing review almost not to be believed, but my experience really was this good. So...recap: StellarPhoenix sucked and wasted days of my time. Data Rescue 3 rocked, as did their tech support, and I recommend them whole-heartedly.

Great product, AWESOME support

I was multi-tasking, trying to clear up disk space while talking on the phone and with a single key stroke, I deleted 13,000 photographs. I did a quick google search, found out about this product and downloaded the demo version. Called support and a great guy named Jeremy walked me through the whole process. Remarkably, I was able to restore our entire iPhoto library. The product is great, but it's the support that made this a 5 star experience.

I only wish I'd tried this earlier - could not be MORE pleased with product and technical support
Shannon

Over a month ago, I accidentally deleted a bunch of text before pressing save and closing a Word Doc. I didn't realize this until last week. I rang a number of different big Data Recovery companies that were mostly rude and unhelpful, and I even visited the Genius Bar at Apple. The genius said I should try this company. I sent an email to see what my chances were (I'd been told by a number of different tech supports that there was almost no way I would recover my data) and Russ was cautious but said I should try the free demo. The demo was easy to download and follow, and certainly let me see enough that I was convinced to purchase the software - and there was my deleted text and a previous saved version of the file!!! The software and app are super easy to use, and I only wish I hadn't wasted my time with other, far more expensive companies first. I even rang a company in the states that was going to charge me $700 even though they said it was highly unlikely they would recover anything. Absolutely recommend Data Rescue 3! I'm recommending it to anyone who's lost data and won't waste my time with other companies again.

Great customer support!
Steve Hodge

I thought I had lost an important 45-minute video file 'til Mike with Prosoft Engineering, creator of Data Rescue 3, helped me locate a non-corrupted file version placed in an iMovie Temporary File in the Event folder from which it had created a copy - after the application had crashed and corrupted the original file. This is probably a mouthful, but what was really great was Mike's expertise in figuring this all out. And he followed up to make sure everything worked as we planned. An irreplaceable file was saved and I learned a lot in the process! Thanks again, Mike!

Lifesaver!

Well I bought a POS Toshiba ext. HDD and it ruined all my pictures, home videos, and itunes library!!! I didnt know what to do and my wife was going to kill me! Found this program while doing a search for harddrive recovery companies and said what the heck, lets give this a try. Had some problems at first- I did not read the instructions. Read them and had some minor problems, emailed tech support and was given some "advice" on my settings. Changed that and I recovered all of our files from a HDD that was formatted twice on my MAC! Quite impressed and Jeremy was super responsive to my emails and he followed up with me to make sure everything worked out. All in all this is a superb product I would not hesitate at all to recommend this company!

Data Rescue 3
Eron

I lost all my photos, music, etc when my kid unplugged the external hard drive and computer at the same time....and at the wrong time. We lost all of our children's pictures for the past 6 years. The hard drive was corrupted and I couldn't see the data. The Geek Squad at Best Buy checked it out and recommended sending it to a clean room for $60 shipping and analysis then $300 - $1800 to retrieve the data. I ordered Data Rescue 3 for about what it would have cost to just ship and analyze the hard drive and had it shipped in 2 days. I loaded it and had all my info back in 5 hours. The only down side was that all of the folders that I had the photos organized in were not recovered....just a bunch of file names with no organization. As my wife says, just like a shoe box full of scattered photos. Still happy to have everything back, organized or not!

It was really great to have such a dedicated support person helping me.
Hedy Kalikoff

I'm really not skilled at computer troubleshooting so when I had a problem trying to use Data Rescue 3 I ended up communicating with Michael, a support person on staff. He was, honestly, the most helpful support person I've ever had for any device I've needed help with. His instructions were clear, he was patient, he didn't make me feel stupid, and he continued to respond to all my questions by email and sometimes by phone. A few days after we finished he checked back to see that everything was still working well. It was really great to have such a dedicated support person helping me.

Prosoft has a great product in Drive Genius 3 and support that is second to none.
Bill C

I recently purchased a copy of PROSOFT's Drive Genius 3 and it detected a problem with my MacBook Pro hard drive. Russ took the call at PROSOFT and, even though it was a problem I should have resolved with Apple Support, he took considerable time walking me through the solution and gave me some great ideas for future backups. Prosoft has a great product in Drive Genius 3 and support that is second to none.

This software and staff are EXCELLENT!
Laverne

This software and staff are EXCELLENT! Unknowingly deleted an important document and unaware for 2 weeks as I downloaded vacation photo's and LOTS of large documents. Everything I read and even heard from our technology staff told me there was no hope of recovery. I was on a short deadline, called ProSoft and worked with "Mike" who was SO knowledgeable, professional AND patient! He walked me through the process and 4 hours later, Voila! I found my document! Highly recommend this software and company any day!

I'm Thankful since the photos represented over 60 years of photography..
Zach

Checked with the Geek Squad and Apple and and Apple was helpful to a point they suggested i go to a 3rd Party and have them recovery 6000+ photos that were accidentally emptied from the trash bin. The third party suggested Data Rescue 3. After talking to there support team I recovered all of the photos in about a days time.....They walked me thru the whole process...I'm Thankful since the photos represented over 60 years of photography..

Thank you very much!

My external hard drive for my Mac Computer was working fine one day and then wouldn't even register on my desktop the next. I called the Support for the hard drive, and when they couldn't do anything with it, they suggest finding a program to try and rescue the files. I did some research and settled on Data Rescue 3. When I initially received the program, I tried a basic recovery. After it ran for about 24 hours, I called the Prosoft Customer Support and spoke with Michael. He was not only very helpful, but also friendly, easily understood, and very knowledgeable about data recovery. Apparently whatever happened to my drive, it had been fairly badly damaged. He suggested "Cloning" the drive to another hard drive and recovering from there. This ended up doing the trick, and almost all my files were able to be recovered (including all my pictures as well as my entire iTunes library of 1,000's of tunes). Michael had asked me to follow up and let him know how things went. I did this, and he added several more suggestions which were very useful. Overall, I would definitely recommend Data Recovery 3, not only for a product that actually works but also for the exemplary customer support at Prosoft! Thank you very much!

help desk is always an email away.
Tim Hooper

My External Hard Drive died on me and would not mount very worried I had lost all my Media files .avi, mp4 .jpg along with many others. After reading a few articles the name of DATA RESCUE 3 came up. Decided to give it a try, initially via the free trial version which is limited to recovering a 10MB file ( I think ). This proved successful so I stumped up the $99 for the full version and off I went ! Having scanned the drive in question all the files were found as before however, following the recovery steps, whereby you direct the recovered files to a new drive, much to my annoyance I was unable to open them, at this point I was worried I had just wasted my money. Following an email to the Technical Help Desk a quick response was received, bearing in mind the time difference between the US and the UK and I was pointed in the right direction very quickly and efficiently by a very helpful assistant named Jeremy. So it seems all was not lost, the software is easy to use and intuitive although if you have to go down a little more technical route like I did then its good to know that an efficient and professional help desk is always an email away.

And DATA RESCUE 3 RESCUED ME.

My still favorite brand, Apple, sold me a bum iPad over xmas. The sync was screwy. And it stole all 3000 songs off my mac book pro. When I went to sync again, it put them back, double. So, I went thru 6,000 songs and deleted the double, one by one. And trashed them. And emptied the trash.I had NO back up like an external hard drive. Ever. I exacerbated a problem that had started with the bum iPad. And DATA RESCUE 3 RESCUED ME. But not just the soft ware. The tech support, provided by Mike. I had spent a Sunday trying to do it myself. Got it installed and working no problem. But I didn't follow the steps correctly. I called Tech Support first thing Monday morning and after a very short, easy to understand, logical and friendly explanation of what to do, Mike helped me get all my music back into Itunes. By name, not file #. I called him back 2 more times- once to make sure I was hitting the right icon b4 I did anything stupid (like not backing up my files!) and once again to ask him how I could let people know that DATA RESCUE 3 isn't a black box that makes no sense. Nor is it a miracle. It is what it is- GENIUS- a logical and extremely effective retrieval system. With humans like Mike behind it.

Data Rescue 3 to the rescue!

I purchased this product a couple of days ago and it has been a blessing. A 1.5TB drive on which I had my video files suddenly would not mount on my Mac's desktop. Disk Utility told me to recover my files and then reformat the drive. How helpful is that! Thanks Apple. Problem is, I can't mount the damn thing! So how can I recover my files? Data Rescue 3 to the rescue! I have almost recovered all of my files. Without this program, so many memories would have simply vanished. I had a couple of queries before using the program. Imagine my surprise when their technical support people came back to me with clear, concise answers. Kudos to you! I will certainly be recommending this software to my friends.

Thanks DR3!

Patience truly is a virtue. If I had any I wouldn't have put myself in a position to accidentally trash and delete home movies. But luckily Michael at Data Rescue 3 support had more patience than I did. He was incredibly understanding and patient of the few days I called back to complete the process. NOTE: I had to call back and do the process over a few days because my external hard drive wasn't suited for Mac and it took me a few days to get a new one. But once I had it, he remembered who I was and walked me through everything. In fact, one evening he stayed past his shift to help me out. The product didn't recover everything I lost but some is better than none and should I ever find myself in this position again at least I'll have some great software to help! Thanks DR3!

Very many thanks.

I lost important photographs transferring them form my camera to the iMac via the desktop, New York, Tashkent and Mumbai. I tried a Google search for "recover deleted files" and honed-in on Data Rescue 3 that seemed highly recommended. I downloaded it in demo mode. Following the search a treasure-trove of reconstructed files appeared, but for some reason I couldn't preview even the smallest file. It was at that point I contacted the Wizard of Data Rescue, his name is Jeremy. I bought the programme and downloaded it, and to keep a short story shorter, I found, previewed and recovered, all the missing files and many I hadn't realised I'd lost. At that point I had something of a learning curve, dozens of questions, and for every answer there were more questions and all the answers came, in full, in detail and simply put. I'm hugely grateful to Jeremy, for his patience, his knowledge, and the sense you get that he knows where you are and what you need. The pre and after sales help was distinguished. Very many thanks.

All in all this is a superb product I would not hesitate at all to recommend this company!

Dat Rescue did exactly what it claimed
Andrew Macbride

I lost my entire iTunes library. Dat Rescue did exactly what it claimed; restored almost everything. But the best part of my experience was the customer support; very responsive and helpful. If you're reading this, you're probably desperate to recover data and want/need help. These are the folks you want to turn to for help.

Great follow up service and care. Thank you!
Simon Kogan

Program works! Michael is great! Tons of "impossible" to recover files by expensive companies are recovered. Great follow up service and care. Thank you!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank you!!!!

This software helped me recover about 5,300 photos and the personal support that was provided via phone went over and beyond! I would recommend this products to anyone who has lost deleted files. Thanks again Michael at prosoft!!!

Superb data recovery of deleted iPhoto, Nikon and MacOSX,

Works exactly as advertised. Used downloaded version to rescue inadvertently deleted large digital photo library, which the software accomplished in 1 hour; from deleted iPhoto trash on MacBook OSX hard drive and from Nikon D40 memory card in the camera (which had also been erased). Software restored all the photos uncorrupted to a folder I named on a thumb drive. God bless em. LR St.Louis

i am SOOOOO grateful!
Steph

this software was easy to use, i downloaded the demo for free, to see if it could find/rescue my data (photos!!) for me and it could. then i purchased the software in order to rescue the entire contents of my drive. it was super easy, and i am SOOOOO grateful!

Wonderful! Saved my Semester!

Data Rescue 3....impressive!
D. Hoverson

Long-time user of DR2. Liked it well enough. Rcvd quick and helpful tech support. Upgraded to DR3 recently and had this experience: Used DR2 to recover trashed files. After the Trash Recover process, there were a total of about 15GBs of data available to recover. I then upgraded to DR3, ran the SAME recovery of trashed files on the SAME drive and it came up with a little over 48GBs of data available to recover. That's impressive! Tech support is prompt and the follow-up is there, as well. Michael has been excellent in customer support. Thanks, DR team!

I can't say enough about customer service!
Vicki Golden

I can't say enough about customer service! It was a pleasure to have such a quick response when I needed it. I have used scan disk and idrive for years now. Thank you Prosoft for the reliable products and wonderful customer service support, especially Jeremy. Within hours he had the answer I needed based on just the date of my purchase and email! Thank you!

Well worth it!
Michelle P.

I used Data Rescue 3 after deleting some files. I had some minor problems getting the program to complete it's scan, but I got prompt service from Michael in customer support, he walked me through some steps and I was able to recover the majority of them. It took about 13 hours for the program to finish, but it was worth it. I highly recommend the program and the customer support is excellent.

Does the job, terrific customer support
Kathy

I accidentally deleted my entire iPhoto library. Date Rescue restored the majority of the files, even though I had used the computer after deleting. The customer support was terrific--prompt replies to e-mails, calls when needed. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone.

Much respect for this product and can't send enough thanks.
William Charles

Briefly, I lost everything when I made the mistake and reformated my external hard drive using Apple Time Machine. Was told by many that there was no way to get anything back. Not only did Prosoft get it back, I was listening to all my music within 24 hours again. Much respect for this product and can't send enough thanks.

Patient, knowledgeable, results-oriented. great job.
Scorpiontoes

Had a particularly gnarly incident [took about three weeks to successfully retrieve the data] and the customer service person (Michael) did a great job of a) explaining the issues as they were discovered, and b) walking through the appropriate responses. Patient, knowledgeable, results-oriented. great job.

The software worked amazingly!
Frankly Hollywood

Customer support over there is great! Michael at prosoft was amazingly helpful. I have gotten quick, excellent responses from him. I never felt like I was just getting an answer just to get an answer! He always knew the answer. I had hard drives that were full of data, but were accidentally reformatted, and I needed my data back. The software worked amazingly! He was incredibly helpful, professional, and courteous and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this product and any other from the company. Did I mention that the service was very quick as well? Excellent! Just another person giving this produce a perfect score.....

Great product. Great customer support. I highly recommend.
A Warner

I accidentally erased a ton of video files from my external hard drive. I'm not a computer whiz by any means, and I needed to get the files back ASAP. My first attempt was through Stellar Phoenix. I bought the software for $99. I was very disappointed. Not only with the software, but with the customer service. It was hard to get ahold of customer support in INDIA. I would send an email, and usually the response would come back at 2AM, when I was in bed. It made for a very long and tedious process. So, I decided to try Data Rescue. It was significantly better, and was able to recover a lot more files. Not to mention, when I had a question I was able to call customer support in CALIFORNIA. I've called three times, and each time my call has been picked up by Michael. Not to mention, the direct email contact I've had with him. It's nice to know some companies are keeping jobs here in the States. Great product. Great customer support. I highly recommend.

Love it.

I am a college student, and during finals week I accidentally erased one of my final papers for a class! (Kind of a BIG DEAL). After calling Mac, they couldn't help me but tell me to try using this program. It was definitely expensive, especially for a poor college student like me, BUT I successfully recovered my deleted paper and handed it in to my professor. Love it.

They more than exceeded my expectations!

I must write I am astonished with Data Rescue 3.1 from ProSoft, in Livermore, California. They more than exceeded my expectations! Michael and Russ have been invaluable aids in helping me through my ordeal of loosing thousands of client's images. It was my error, I attempted to add one more 1 TB HD to my two HD RAID. Since I did not know what I was doing, I lost the images. I am so fortunate to have a company with such dedicated personnel behind me. Helping me. Russ and Michael are both like my personal employees. I needed to phone them over a three week period for assistance and was guided each time I needed direction. Five star rating for ProSoft? No way. I give them 22 stars! The benefit of being a client of ProSoft Engineering is priceless. I started using Drive Genius some years back, After nearly two years, I needed help with Drive Genius. No questions asked, the Prosoft team helped me. Now, that is exceptional! Be involved with ProSoft Engineering when you need data recovery and HD issues. Your expectations will be exceeded. So, all I should say is: THANK YOU, DATA RESCUE 3!
Hugo Quintanilla

The hard disk of my PowerBook G4 died after a routine update. I tried the Disk Utility program, but it was unable to fix it. Then I tried Disk Warrior. After several tries, it too was unable to fix the HD. My last hope to save my files was Data Rescue 3. And it worked! It took almost 55 hours, but most of my data is now in an external HD. Of course, most of the files are named J74x100-09351.jpg, Mail-00281.mbox, T00033.rtf, etc., but they are clickable, and with a little patience and lots of time, I'll rename each one of them. :-) Strange, but ALL my mp3 have their correct names. Great! 3,000 or so files I won't have to check! I wholeheartedly recommend this software IF Disk Utility can see your hard disk. Mine failed completely after the Deep Scan of Data Rescue 3, and it is now invisible and unmountable. Time to get another one. So, all I should say is: THANK YOU, DATA RESCUE 3!

I Needed help in retrieving files from a RAID drive. Michael of Prosoft was a huge help in making sure that I rescued my Final Cut Files that were 60-80 Gigs. Tried three other softwares and only this one worked. Thanks again Michael from Vancouver Canada.

Data Rescue works great and their support is top-notch.

Data Rescue works great and their support is top-notch. I needed help creating a USB boot drive for my Macbook Air. Their support walked me through it and I easily recovered all my files from my damaged hard drive. Thanks,

Excellent Technical Support
Jessica G

Data Rescue 3 saved my vital files from my MacBook Pro after the hard drive failed, without my having to shell out massive amounts of money for professional data recovery. I am beyond pleased. Received excellent technical support from Michael at ProSoft; hold time was long but the agent was very helpful when I got through. Really appreciated his communication ability, both knowledgeable and articulate. Nice to have actual support from technical support for once!

My heart dropped at the thought of losing around 5,000 songs and years worth of photos.
C. Money

I had a dying external drive that would not mount due to file structures being damaged by repeated mechanical failures. I tried Disk Utility's Repair Disk and only made it worse. My heart dropped at the thought of losing around 5,000 songs and years worth of photos. By pure chance (Google search is your friend), I found the Prosoft website. I used the trial version to perform a scan, and it found every single file that was on the drive. I took a risk and purchased the full license. I was a bit confused by all of the features the full version has to offer (plus i was scared of possibly losing my data by pressing the wrong button), so I sent an email to customer support explaining my situation. Michael (the person who handled my case) was very knowledgeable and worked me through the process step-by-step over the course of several emails (and several days, as some processes took upwards of 12 hrs for me). The key for me was to clone the faulty drive, then scan and recover from the clone, only recovering necessary files, as a lot on the data is duplicate or previous trash items. If not it would require 2TB to recover 300GB!!!

Highly recommend.
Bill

I had to use data rescue 3 to rescue a complete failing drive. After talking to tech support, I used the clone feature and recovered files from the clone. I spoke to tech support at least 3 or 4 times with great results and no attitude. They even called me back when they had thought something over and checked with an engineer. The program rescued 318G out of a 320G drive. Highly recommend. My wife used it once too when nothing else worked and it did the trick.

Absolute necessity for external hard drives!

I work primarily in media/video/graphics and have quite an extensive collection of external firewire hard drives housing my content and project files. It's not the most ideal situation, but it's just too easy to buy another drive when my latest one starts getting full. Last month I had a fairly new drive refuse to mount on my Mac, and the computer wanted to 'initialize' the drive. Of course, I had the only copies of valuable project files residing on this drive, so initializing was not an option. I tried first aid/disk utility... no luck. I have Diskwarrior, and that program wouldn't even recognize the drive was plugged in, much less rebuild/repair it. As a last resort option before erasing the drive and starting my project from scratch, I bought Data Rescue. GREAT decision! Immediately after install it recognized my ailing drive, and I was able to pull 315GB of files off of it. This program would have saved me a LOT of heartache in the past, and I'm glad I have it in the event of any future mishaps.

Saved the day!
Matt Larson

Found my files I accidentally deleted a couple of very important files from a dying drive. The next day I ran Data Rescue 3, and after fighting to scrub through the entire drive, the software was able to reconstruct the files I emptied from the Trash. Tech Support very responsive Before I found the manual online I left an email question for the support staff and a few hours later I got a response. Not only was it from a human, but he actually took the time to read what I wrote (not just copy and paste some pre-written answer). I always appreciate that level of support. Money well spent It would have taken days to recreate what I thought I'd lost. I was always skeptical of software data recovery but I am very glad I bought this software.

Saved months of work.
Dennis C.

I had just completed months of collecting data to an external drive. Then the drive would not mount. I tried Disk Utility but the disk would still not mount. Next I tried TechTool Pro 6, it recognized the drive and was able to recover some files. I then downloaded Data Rescue 3 Demo from Prosoft Engineering. After a Quick Scan, all my files showed up. As none of my files was under 5GB, I called Prosoft and was put in touch with Mike in Tech Support. He was able to help me recover a few files to see if the product would work. I had not spent a dime and this man was willing to go above and beyond helping. Many thanks. At any rate, I was able to recover files even TechTool Pro 6 was not able to recognize. The best thing about Data Rescue 3 it recovered files in less than half the time and gives you visual feedback as to your progress. This is a go to app for drives that won't mount and I haven't even looked at everything else the app will do. Buy it.

Data Rescue 3 Saved My Print Job!
PSP

I publish a monthly magazine using a Mac Pro. I somehow accidentally deleted a whole month of PDF files that were about to be sent to my printing company. I had the Data Rescue 3 disk but had never used it. I called Tech support and spoke to Mike who walked me through the steps. I recovered all of the files in time for me to meet my printer's scheduled press time. This product works great and this company gave me by far the very best Tech support I have ever encountered anywhere! Knowledgeable, polite, patient, and professional! Great product! Great people Thanks ProSoft and Mike the Tech Support Guy!

Recovery from FLIP video camera

I accidently deleted "All" files (rather than selected files) from my Flip MiniHD video recorder. The Data Rescue 3 (Mac) software offered a trial version (download from company site), which is a very important feature since you may need to try more than one software program to find the one that works for your files. My files were bigger than the demo version trial allowed, but the very helpful Prosoft phone tech helped me make sure the software would work on my files before purchasing the software. The software worked quickly and nearly perfectly (recovered the specified files as well as a couple I don't think I selected, but maybe that was my fault). The recovered files are .mov format (though video files downloaded normally from the camera to the computer are converted to .mp4 somewhere in the process). I'm not sure what difference that makes, since both types of files seem to play fine in QuickTime Player. A few things to note about my experience: (1) I immediately realized my delete error and did no more recording so I would not overwrite the files before I had a chance to attempt recovery, and (2) I ignored the Flip Video tech support that was of no help and flatly insisted that there was no way to recover deleted files, (3) I downloaded the software directly from the company website - more expensive than on Amazon at the time, but a great, quick option if you're in a panic. In sum, a very successful result that left me very impressed with the software and phone support.

Prosoft has both.
Jack Haslup

Being a serious amateur photographer I can not afford to lose photos on a compact flash card after hours of work traveling and setting up equipment and getting the shot I was looking for in perfect light. But it happened. An 8GB CF card went south and I could not retrieve the photos when I got home. After searching the internet I decided to try Data Rescue 3. The problem was that I had actually purchased Drive Genius 3 but thanks to Michael in Prosoft's Customer Support my error was discovered and the offer to swap Drive Genius 3 for Data Rescue 3 was made. However I decided to keep Drive Genius 3 and purchase Data Rescue 3 as I had already used Drive Genius on one of my external drives. Data Rescue 3 found all of my photos on the CF card and many others I had long forgotten. This was on a CF card that had been used and re-formatted many times. I was amazed and it was a real life saver for me. Not only am I impressed with the product but I am very impressed with their customer support. Too many businesses do not seem to understand the importance of having the right people in interfacing with their customers. A well developed product is always necessary but with poor support you just will not make it today. From where I sit, Prosoft has both.

Your products work very well

Your products drive utility products work very well and I run them at least once a month on my iMac and MacBook. My MacBook is used by students in a college class I teach and sometimes the content they import creates issues. Drive Genius fixes these issues quickly and easily. Thanks!

Recovered ALL of my files!!!!
RobP

Went to install Windows 7 in boot camp, but thanks to identical drive types and Windows 7 changing the drive order, the wrong one got its partition removed and formatted from OSX Journal to NTFS. When I got back into OSX I realised what a mistake I had made. The drive that got wiped was my data drive and the backups for this drive were incomplete. Thought I had lost a lot of software and work and that it was not recoverable. After doing some Googling, I downloaded the demo of Data Rescue 3 and gave it a whirl. For the test run I only let it deep scan for 10 minutes - but that was enough!!!!! All the files were located. At that point I bought the product and recovered ALL of my files!!!! What is extraordinary is that I had deleted an OSX partition from Windows and then formatted it in Windows NTFS, yet Data Rescue was able to recover everything! You guys don't know how happy I am and how much money I have just saved! :)

I had paid 1,000.00 to professionals to do the job for me and this 99.00 software did a miracle for me.
ABS

At work I was in charge of an important project backing up data from old laptops and formatting the HD drives. Well I accidently deleted my external hard drive info where I kept all my backups. I couldn't sleep that night so I took the drive to experts (Disk Doctors) and was charged 1,000.00 to retrieve my data, I did not care about the money because it meant my Job. Disk Doctors kept my external hard drive for Two weeks and could not retrieve my data, which I received a refund because of their policy No retirve, No pay. I almost gave up after doing dozen of Google searches I could not find anything. This was my last search, I did a Yahoo search and found Data rescue PC (I think GOD heard my prayers). I downloaded the free trial software and in my amaze after 4 hours search I've noticed that the software had found my files. It was a miracle because I had paid 1,000.00 to professionals to do the job for me and this 99.00 software did a miracle for me. I have never written anything in my life, I said to my self if this software recovers my data I will have to write about it. Thank you so much Prosoft-Data Rescue PC for doing a professional Job. The new suite of tools in Drive Genius 3 is incredibly comprehensive and useful.
Dr. Mark Schoennfeld

I just upgraded to Drive Genius 3, having had good results with version 1 for the past few years. The new suite of tools in Drive Genius 3 is incredibly comprehensive and useful. The interface is slickly designed and user-friendly. I used the defrag tool on all my drives and the improved performance is noticeable. The repartition tool is very impressive, allowing changes to be made in the size and location of volumes without having to initialize. I just recommended Drive Genius 3 to a colleague and received similar very positive comments. Dr. Mark Schoennfeld North Carolina

Once again thank you for this product
Richard Ronci

First, let me get to the bottom line (I'm an accountant), I purchased Data Rescue PC3 because my Dell Tower crashed and would not open. The computer tech wanted to re-install the Vista operating system and that would have erased all of my files. I found your software, read the box and decided it was worth the money to try it; I was about to lose all my work. Your software worked and I was able to recover all my critical files. The reason I am writing you this letter is because if I had listened to two computer techs at two different well known stores, I would surely have lost everything. Both techs told me that there was no software that could help me. I didn't listen and looked anyway. I found your software box on the bottom shelf. It says right on the box - NO Software Installation Necessary - Data Rescue PC3 does not require the Windows operating system to run. I asked the tech about this and she said that I needed Windows to work or no software would rescue my files. I had to show her the box. I asked if she had any experience with it and she finally admitted that she had none. She kept reading the box and finally said to try it. The most I could lose was the price of the software. So I bought it, installed it and it got hung up after about 2 hours of trying to locate and inventory all my files. I called your tech support and two gentlemen, John and Mike solved my problem. I downloaded an updated version and the software did exactly what it claimed it would do. Best purchase I have ever made. Once I got a look at the files that your software listed, I realized that I must have gotten some type of virus. It took all of my files and recreated them between 28 and 38 times. It also reproduced all my software programs; the computer couldn't startup. It was getting too many sets of instructions. Eventually, my computer ran out of memory and crashed. I was able to go in, using your software, and only restore a single version of the documents I needed. Without your software, that wasn't an option. Once again thank you for this product and I would be happy to be a reference for your company and this product. You have my permission to use this letter any way you like. Sincerely yours, Richard Ronci

Prosoft you Rock!
Chadwick

Where to start! One night late I was trying to fix an old hard drive that I use for Time Machine. The drive went on the fritz and I need my backed up data. So I was working transferring it to another hard drive while it was still able to at least run this took 3 hours; an old IDE external. And this is when my problem happened. I needed to format the drive I was working on just to make sure nothing was there when I trashed it but doing the NSA erase took a while.. Well after it finished I did a test and found out that it was the external PCB and not the actual hard drive. YAY! Well I re formatted it to MAC OS extended Journal that way I'm already set up to use the time machine. Once I pressed the format button I realized that it was my other external drive that I was now deleting all my good info away SAD SAD SAD. I said about 100 curse words and cried about a half hour.. This drive had about 40 thousand photos and upwards to 37 thousand songs. So I started to search software and companies such as DATA SAVERS which wanted 1700 bucks to get my data.. I then called apple and the tech recommended that I should try data rescue 3, I downloaded the demo and found every bit of everything I had saved to the drive. Even stuff I thought I delete long time ago. Needless to say 16 hours later I have all of my data and then some!!! PROSOFT YOU ROCK .. Thanks so much for your software. USAF Fueling the Force POL

I just have to tell you how thrilled I am
Barbara

I just have to tell you how thrilled I am that I purchased your Data & Photo Recovery software (along with Drive Genius). At the time I purchased the set of software, I didn't think I'd need the Klix, but I decided to purchase the whole package of software offered at our Mac Users meeting. Yesterday, I accidentally threw some very precious photos in the trash and emptied the trash. I fretted about it all day and dreaded telling my mother I had lost her photos. Then early this morning I remembered the Klix software and decided to give it a try. I got them all back! Thank you!

Prosoft stands behind its product and serves the needs of its customers first and foremost.
Gerald Clarett

I was a long time PC user who recently purchased an iMAC computer. I purchased your Drive Genius 3 software and found it extremely useful in "monitoring" my system. Recently the DG3 displayed a "bad block" message concerning my external drive and I was somewhat at a lost as to what action I should take, i.e. Spare Bad Block, Write Zeros, Repair, etc. ... while your DG3 Users Guide explained each step I was still somewhat perplexed as to what action to take, so I contacted your support department and spoke with a "Michael" and I must say right from the start, after I explained my problem, he was most knowledgable about my situation and explained the best course of action for me. He also relayed 2 or 3 alternate future remedies that I should consider should my external drive fail completely. I have dealt with many support sites, i.e. Microsoft, NORTON, HP, Apple, etc. and while generally the support ranges from average to good, my dealings with Prosoft ranks as great! .. .. I was left with the feeling and confidence that my problem was completely solved, and any future problems/issues will be resolved in a timely courteous manner as well. Great to know that a organization such as Prosoft stands behind its product and serves the needs of its customers first and foremost. Keep up the great work! You may use my name in posting the above comment however please do not use my email address (don't want to be bombarded with spam mail) :) Sincerely, Gerald R. Clarett

Way To Go Data Rescue 3
Craig Myers

Had a family member who had not upgraded his old Mac because he was using an old OS9 application for this business quotes. Short story, he ran out of disk space on the old Mac, threw his iphoto library away thinking it was backed up to a external hard drive. Said "he lost about 8,000 pictures." In the only drag and drop backup from the only iPhoto library was about 1,200 pictures. So Data Rescue 3 and over 25,000 pictures later he now has allot of work throwing away the Pictures he does not want. I estimated he might of lost a handful from over writes. Way to go Data Rescue 3. Music is part of his business and I believe a side affect was the recovery of lots of missing songs from his iTunes collected over the years. Great Job Prosoft. CM.

Data Rescue Brings Back Data From the Deep Freeze!
Tomasz C.

I recently had a client come to me with a dead drive, typically I do not do data recovery but it was a good client so I gave it a try. After a few failed attempts I stumbled upon a forum that described how someone put their hard drive in the freezer and ran data data rescue from another computer while the drive was in the freezer. IT WORKED! Recovered 20 years worth of work which was supposed to be backed up on a time capsule but apparently it wasn't configured properly... You guys saved him much anguish! Many Thanks!

I LOVE YOU!
Jake Hawley

I love you. I love the whole team that made this product and I love Data Rescue. Some footage that could not be re-shot and was accidentally deleted was recovered using your software. Oh glorious day!

Severe failing drive took forever to recover but Data Rescue never quit!
Domenic J. Licata

It took an elapsed time of 785:53:35, but Data Rescue 3 successfully completed cloning 149 GB from a failing hard drive. We nearly gave up several times, but Data Rescue never did. We were able to copy all of our data from the image that Data Rescue created for us.

Data Rescue 3 worked!
Mike White

DataRescue3 worked! It recovered everything from my sick external HD. Thank you from helping me save valuable work and lots of $$$. I'm now going to invest in a better backup system with a smile on my face.

BIG THANKS!
Thomas Decrick

BIG THANKS to the GENIUSES at PROSOFT! Data Rescue software has saved my precious behind twice now. A pocked hard disc of mine became unable to mount, but thanks to DR3, I could recover everything. I'm eternally grateful.

Saved my bacon twice ! Today Parallels broke down and wiped out my window's base drives. I was able to recover them and restore them completely - No loss of precious (although backed up) Tax Files.

Data Rescue II saves Labor Day Boating
Jane McGinnis

Labor day weekend in Northern Michigan, we were filming the second day of a sailboat regatta with our Sony HVR-Z7U using a 16GB compact flash card. We had downloaded day one to our computer but forgot to clear and reformat the card. Obviously we started running out of memory, so between shots my husband was deleting the old stuff to make room. We were bouncing around in a small 17 foot Boston Whaler in some pretty choppy water - just as he was deleting one file a huge wave bounced us and his thumb hit the delete all and in an instant everything we had recorded that day was gone. He was about to reformat the card and record the rest of the race - but I told him to wait - I thought I could recover the files with Data Recovery II. Your software saved the day - over 280 DV clips were recovered and we can now edit our project. Thank you for the great software.

Let me be frank...
PG

Let me be as frank as I needed someone to be with me when I was considering different data recovery products. If you're thinking of buying AppleXSoft or Stellar Phoenix, think twice. Data retrieval is tricky. My experience of these other apps is that they caused system-stopping stability issues (refusing to Force-Quit, taking the OS hostage, etc.) adding migraine headaches to the already serious problem of data loss. Data Rescue II behaves the way a user needs at a critical and worrisome time when data is hanging in the balance. I'd like to see the developers add the option of specifying sector ranges, but apart from this, I give Data Rescue II five stars out of five. It retreived over 30,000 files from a formatted drive with bad sectors, most of them family photos. Thanks to a great team for a fine product.

Really, this software saved the happiest moment of our lives forever and ever.
Eduardo from Brazil

Yesterday I had my first child, a beautiful baby girl called Nina. Accidentaly and stupidly, I don't know how, I managed to delete the whole thing recorded on my Flip Nino HD Camcorder... deleted and empty'd trash... I also, don't know how, but, Data Rescue II found them ALL back again. Really, this software saved the happiest moment of our lives forever and ever. Thanks for developing such a tool like this. Sincerly, Eduardo.

I LOVE YOU!
Christopher Frederick Che Bsch

Folks, I LOVE YOU At the moment i'm recovering my HD with this great piece of software. Cheers Christopher

Data Rescue II is a Miracle--
Harriet Bell

As a writer I often refer to audio files of interviews needed for the book. I was in the middle of a manuscript when all of the audio files literally disappeared. After some terrifying moments and a bit of research I came across Data Rescue II. I was able to recover every single file. It was more than a book-saver. It was a lifesaver. Data Rescue II is a miracle.

Your software my have just saved my marriage.
Bill Winsberg

I have to tell you how much I love your software. I had 5 years of pictures on my Mac Mini when the hard drive failed. We thought our pictures were lost. I tried other software and it could not find any of the files using quick scan and took almost 2 days to just find file folders but no data in them. I downloaded your demo and it found 20GB out of 70 with just a quick scan. I paid for the license on line and used the program to recover at least 90% or more of the lost pictures. Your software my have just saved my marriage.

Daughter's school trip pics saved
Frits van Dijk

Saved by you guys!! My daughter deleted her school trip photo'sfrom Tsjechie, but thanks to this magnificent peace of software i could help her out and retrieved them back! She says: Thank you :) Frits

You saved my life Prosoft!!!!!!
Brad

After ignoring signs of a failing hard drive and procrastinating on backing up all my files, the inevitable happened...my hard drive crashed, hard! With 8 years of design work, my portfolio and a lifetime of pictures all on the crashed hard drive, I was in tears. After reading endless testimonials about DataRescue2, I decided to purchase the software and give it a whirl. My hard drive sounded worse than my lawnmower, but I popped in the DVD and to no avail I pulled all my files off the crashed hard drive. I will praise the software till the day I die! You saved my life Prosoft!!!!!!

This is the best data recovery program out there!
Jamie Hanlon

This is the best data recovery program out there, I completely erased a partition on my HD but it was able to recover everything, even the folder tree.

Recoved Dissertation!!!
David McRell

My coworker called me in a panic. Her husband had just "lost" his doctoral dissertation; over six months of work gone! One quick scan with DRII and viola! We found it among dozens of other Word files. Thanks Prosoft for making me look so good!

I am very impressed, and deeply grateful for this amazing program.
Matt

I have my entire life - business, entertainment, music, writing, letters - 2tb worth of data making up everything that matters to me on a RAID-5 drive. I take meticulous care of the drive, making sure it is physically intact, but the other day I rebooted my computer and the data had somehow become corrupt. My Mac wouldn't recognize the drive. DiskWarrior didn't recognize it. The hard drive manufacturer wasn't equipped to handle corrupt data, only hardware failure. All I could do was reformat the drive, or take it to a data recovery expert who guaranteed it would cost a week and a thousand dollars, but would not guarantee that my data would be recovered. I went with option 3: trying Data Rescue. My hard drive and all of its data has been 100% restored, with file and directory heirarchy intact. I am very impressed, and deeply grateful for this amazing program.

Simple, clean and logical.
David Le Marchand

Data Backup 3 Simple, clean and logical. Our IT department used to be in charge of our back up solution. But it was so long winded to retrieve missing or deleted data that for the most part we never bothered. We would spend time re-setting work rather than trawl our way through a series of cluttered windows. Thanks to Data Backup 3, I now back up all files from my 10 person Studio plus a Marketing department of 4. 250,000 files backed up and mirrored on a regular basis. Retrieval of files is so simple and intuitive - thank you!

The retrieval program is simply super.
RK

Last night I was resetting my camera. When I came to "reformat" I said never press it until you have downloaded the contents of the disc. Then I pressed it inadvertently and all hell broke loose. Two months of pictures vanished. Then later I remembered your note of several months ago to our T-Apple group in which you wrote about KLIX, a recovery program. I retrieved your note, then wrote to "joesoft", and within two hours I bought his program and retrieved about 160 pictures that I had deleted. So I write to thank you for your helpful advice. The retrieval program is simply super. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness. With gratitude. RK

I am COMPLETELY saved from the nightmare or losing all of that work time and expense.
Greg Ctitchley

HOW DATA RESCUE 2 saved my A** After i impatiently and foolishly powered off one of my Lacie drives (the computer was hanging on startup and I thought that might "help") the disk became "unreadable" and the OS wanted to initialize it. Since it contained about 200Gig of extremely important and valuable data (logic files and attendant audio files, mastering sessions in pro tools etc) and projects/songs that were un-replaceable, a casual reformatting was not an option. No biggie - i ALWAYS have an exact copy of everything on another drive - usually I buy pairs of drives and backup constantly - so i wasn't that worried....yet.... Until I restarted....panic....now 2 drives were unreadable, my main project drive AND its backup. I was *&%^$#*^'d...in a huge way - all of the musicians I had paid. The artists I had produced....the co- writers, mixers.....it went on and on. neither drive responded to Disk Utility, disk warrior, OR tech Tool Pro....so i was ready to give up, when I started googling and googling.... soon i had downloaded Data rescue, and had it perform a 3 hour scan, and another 3 hour "something' before it could then copy what it found to another drive. This morning (copying took 5 hours) i awoke to see a successful recover, in the software's opinion...but I still wondered if the Logic files would remember they were Logic, and whether or not they would know how to find audio, and how much data I had lost...I was a mess. So I hooked the recovery drive up to my rig...saw Logic icons (whew) and loaded the first song. Since the directories had changed (the drive now had a new name) it took some time to find all of the files, but they were still in the same relative directories as before. It was relatively simple, and VOILA....the first song played and opened. after 24hours of opening songs and projects (most valuable to least valuable) I can report that EVERY SINGLE SONG was recovered and plays perfectly. I am COMPLETELY saved from the nightmare or losing all of that work time and expense. I also went out to the comp store and bought 4 new Rocstor drives - I'm doing 3 copies of everything from here on in...and NEVER unplugging a drive again!! Thanks DATA RESCUE!!! - hope this helps someone else. Search terms - data rescue, data retrieval, data recovery, drives down, drive failure, won't mount.....

Drive Genius has saved countless of memories (photos and videos)
Alex T.

Usually I do not write testimonials and specially for a piece of software. However, Prosoft's Drive Genius is an exception. After having saved my equipment many times from data corruption, file system errors, "unhappy mac folders" and "boot up question marks." I have no doubt that this software "just works" and does what it does better and faster than other commercial system tools. Surely, at first I was very skeptic about Drive Genius and the price tag, However, an hour at my local technician would have cost me well over $95 plus taxes. When I found out that many technicians in the field use Drive Genius (including Apple), I knew I could not go wrong with this purchase. Drive Genius has saved countless of memories (photos and videos) ,Projects and personal data (not to mention countless of hours saved by not having to wait for the technician to fix my mac) I truly recommend this product...

One word 'Thanks' guys.

One word 'Thanks' guys.

You can not put a price tag on this product, because it is simply invaluable
Zach Parker (zach@parker.tc)

You can not put a price tag on this product, because it is simply invaluable! Without Data Rescue II, I would be without tens of thousands of photos, songs, videos, and most importantly those overdue school papers! From the oh so devastating Hard Drive crash to a corrupted flash drive, and don't forget the famous, "Oops, I accidentally formatted my camera's SD Card," Data Rescue II has become a religion and a god to me for the past 3 years, and will continue to be one forever. Please tell me... How do you do it?

I was able to recover 125GB of data in less than 4 hours! I'm very happy.
Steve Rusmantijo

I have never come across any software that came close to Data Rescue II in the recovery features! I tried several different utilities, none of them could recover data like Data Rescue II did. I was able to recover 125GB of data in less than 4 hours! I'm very happy. Thank you very much. Again, thank you very much!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, guys!
Frerik de Jong

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, guys! My WD harddrive crashed and I lost two years of work. After about 10 hours, Data Rescue recovered near everything!

Thank you Prosoft for helping me with my major PC catastrophy and for saving me $1900!!
Ed Hudson

I read the testimonials on your website and decided to buy your product to help me recover all of my files from a downed PC drive. It worked amazingly well, simply, quickly, and effectively, just as the product information suggested it would. What I got for $99 would've cost me up to $2000 had I followed the PC manufaturer's advice and had my drive recovered by a "special recovery service". Thank you Prosoft for helping me with my major PC catastrophy and for saving me $1900!! I will be recommending your products to everyone I know. Ed

AGAIN, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
Michelle Clay

Dear David and Crew: Thank you so much for the module. I have been away from my project for a while so this is the first chance I have gotten to really look at the footage that the module was able to recover I was able to recover better than half of the material I lost. There was an entire day that only retrieved the first frame and the rest was scrambled there was a group of clips that did not recover at all just black clips like the initial Data Rescue pass but the better part of what I did recover was from the same day and the most crucial footage the HD video quality does not to seem to have suffered much at all I will know more once the footage is projected but at a glance, it all looks great! At this point, I need to go thru and resync the video MFXs with their audio MFX compliment I will be able to do that using duration lengths I am still wading thru the 880+ clips that were generated the quicktimes did not recover, which is fine as is, I only have one scene to reshoot THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! I need the names of the engineers that worked on this for me I would love to include the company and individuals in the special thanks credits of my film also, If it will help with you statistics or research at some point, I can possibly give you a recovery ratio I also plan to run the module once more to see if the program recovers things it couldn't the first time AGAIN, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! Best regards, Michelle Clay

Data Rescue PC is truly an amazing product
Keith Sullivan

Data Rescue PC is truly an amazing product. I was able to recover a 6400 song iTunes library, 5 years of email, my financial data, and irreplaceable digital photos from an XP formatted drive that would not boot no matter what I did. Believe me, I was ready to send my drive to a professional data recovery lab. By using Data Rescue PC, I saved hundreds of dollars, and was able to get my PC back to normal. Thank you !

Highly recommended, and simple to use, it does all the work!!
Chris S

Oh yes, Data Rescue II is the best! My mac powerbook G4's hard drive went bust and I was told I needed to send it to a specialist to recover data, and even then it was no guarantee. I thought I would try this software, as it would a lot less wasted if it didn't work. I had 3 years worth of work on my hard drive, and was desperate to get all the data off the drive. I'm in the middle of a dissertation and losing everything is all I need! Luckily Data Rescue II came to the rescue. All my files and and folders, my precious music and photos are now safe on an external hard drive ready to be transfered to my new comp!! Thank you!! You saved my life!! The cost of the program is nothing to the data I have recovered!! Highly recommended, and simple to use, it does all the work!! Thank You!!!

Drive Genius--Love the new interface.
Timothy W Larson

Awesome. Has saved drives that Disk Warrior couldn't. Love the new interface.

Data Rescue II truly exceeded my expectations
Brenton P.

I stupidly ran "rm -rf *" on my home directory, deleting all my documents before I realized what was happening. Data Rescue II truly exceeded my expectations, even recovering Skim PDF notes (as BPLIST files). I would recommend Data Rescue II without hesitation in the future.

Thank you just falls short of what you did for her!!
DH

My daughter is a grad student studying for her Master's exam. She accidentally deleted a file containing 600 documents that represented years of work (and emptied her trash with the file in it). Panicked, she called Apple Care (she was still under warranty) and talked to a person who identified themselves as a certified "Apple Genius." After a half hour of questions and getting her to go through several tasks, the "apple genius" said because she had an old operating system, her files were gone for good- absolutely no way to ever retrieve them, and that he had unfortunately received many calls from people in her same situation. He was certain that there was no way to go back and get the last files. She was crushed! Two days later, someone at her university pointed her to prosoft and with your $100 software, she was able to recover all her lost data. Your system recovered years of hard work. Thank you just falls short of what you did for her!!

For the second time, Data Rescue II has saved the day!

For the second time, Data Rescue II has saved the day! An iPhoto crash deleted all the images from my digital camera - leaving a major project in limbo. The data card for the camera appeared to be wiped clean and no attempts to access the erased data worked... until I used Data Rescue II, which was able to dig them out, saving us an entire reshoot for this project. This is one of the best software investments I've ever made!

that one recovery was well worth the $$$ investment...
C Kelly

After listening to and understanding the workings of several of your programs, I purchased the bundle.. and the very first time I tried the Recovery Program - it pulled up picts that we thought were gone... grandkids ;-) that one recovery was well worth the $$$ investment... THANK You one and all at Prosoft... these programs are so much easier to understand and run.. I used to dread trying to recover!! I won't hesitate now! These programs are so easy my 4th grade grand dtr can use them!! Been a Mac person since the mid 1980's... and thanks to ProSoft love my Mac even more!

There are no words for my relief. Thank You Prosoft.
Mark Goss

Imagine my panic when the five month old hard drive that contained my entire art and design portfolio, 17 years worth of irreplaceable image files, started making odd noises and refused to mount. After days of "Repair Programs" that only made matters worse I found Data Rescue II. The Demo version was able to come up with a directory and recovered one file successfully. Encouraged, I bought the program and prayed. Data Rescue II locked on to the drive and tenaciously pulled files from the struggling disk. Thirty Four hours later all 428 Gigabytes were rescued without a single damaged file. There are no words for my relief. Thank You Prosoft.

Your recovery software was amazing!
Jim Yukich

I just wanted to let you know that I've been directing and editing shows for over 25 years... in the last 15 years or so they've all been edited on computer based programs. I've had many drives die at the wrong time... the wrong time being before I found you guys. Your recovery software was amazing! You saved my project. I can't thank you enough. Jim Yukich

This was a dead-easy, no-brainer solution.
Jeff Jourard

I'm an independent consultant who provides a variety of services to a certain segment of the market in my area. One client gave a camera to his 8-year old daughter for Christmas and the pictures were "gone". I try to be a one-stop solution and provide as many yes-I-can answers as possible. I have plenty of utilities for Windows, but his was an all-Mac house. I had a good experience with Data Rescue recovering an entire FileMaker database from an otherwise dead hard drive, so I decided to give Klix a try. I bought it online, downloaded it, and mounted it on the desktop of a G4 at home. For the heck of it, I copied the program file onto my 256MB USB thumbdrive... At the client's home, I plugged in the camera to the daughter's 15" iMac, and then I plugged in the USB thumbdrive. I launched the Klix from the thumbdrive and it came up on the screen! I also selected the thumbdrive as the storage location for the search results. Picture rescue found the camera and went to work. A few minutes later it found absolutely every deleted item on that camera's memory card and most of them were little movies. I restored the files, popped them into the iVideo app they had on the iMac and it was a total success. This was a dead-easy, no-brainer solution. Klix is really easy, really optimized for this purpose, and is every bit as good and maybe better than the excellent utilities I have for this purpose that run on Windows. Based on this experience, I bought the entire suite of recovery software from Prosoft and it is the centerpiece of my Mac Service arsenal.

Thanks! Worked great, and I was able to retrieve my lost data!
Chris Calon

Thanks! Worked great, and I was able to retrieve my lost data! I can't tell you how much time and money this saved me. So much of the awesome.

What a brilliant piece of software.
David Preutz

An external firewire drive that I had loaded up with about 150 gigs worth of images to be catalogued & processed somehow changed its name, desktop icon and 'lost' all the folders overnight. Needless to say every piece of software I owned failed to recover anything. Someone then mentioned 'Data Rescue 11'. Et Voila........... I am now watching tiffs and even RAW files reappearing that I thought I had lost forever. What a brilliant piece of software. P.S. Before I do anything else they'll be burnt to DVD as I do not wish to push my luck & that of Data Rescue too much on the same files. Thanks

I am, very seriously, impressed.
Sean

This is what I will be using: Greetings! Last week, my fiancee managed to have both a disk crash, and a disk accident. After some serious panicking, and downloading a copy of Disk Warrior 4.0, a google search led me to your application, and the FAQ seemed promising. We let it run overnight, and were very happy, in the morning, to see how many files it had found. We happily paid the $99 (and more, for the CD to be shipped, which arrived early this week), got the activation key, and let it go about its merry way. I had planned from the onset to send a congratulatory and happy review to this address, because I am, very seriously, impressed. So when I say that I am impressed at what the application was able to do, rest assured it comes from many years of experience in UNIX filesystems. I would be grateful if you could pass on my thanks, and my deep respect, to the engineering folks who obviously worked hard for this to work, and my gratitude to the folks who came up with the deeply-satisfying idea of having the demo do a complete scan, and allow for activation at that stage. Thanks, Sean.

I thought the BABY PICTURES and the WEDDING PICTURES were GONE FOREVER!!!!

But they are back!!!!!! I have my work cut out for me, but at least I can see them, open them, print them out and back them up twice like I now know I should do!!!! THANK YOU people for the Data Rescue Software! God bless!

Dawn Himley-Grandi

We are THRILLED that we can recover five years of photos the 4 year old trashed!

All pictures recovered. Amazing.
Mark Lass

Your software has saved my wife and daughter much misery. Just home from my daughter's high school graduation ceremony she tried to upload the photographs to her iBook. No deal. And now the card seems empty and cannot open the files. Terrible night sleep for all. High school grad pictures.....poof! Enter your fine software and today all are happy once again. All pictures recovered. Amazing. Geeks rule. Thank you

All I can say is thank You ProSoft. You came through when I needed you the most!
Jeff Strichard

As it turned out, nobody's program or service including Alsoft's Disk Warrior (versions 3 & 4), Apple's Disk Utility, Micromat's Tech Tools, Drive Savers, Apple's Genius Bar, ProSoft's Drive Genius, and others would allow me access to the RAID corrupted volumes. I was almost to the point of just trying to recover the actual data, and rebuilding my files and directories. This was after 14 days of reading, e-mailing, Googling, and trying over 8 mainstream utility programs. Until... One of the companies I contacted, ProSoft Engineering, asked me to try their program Data Rescue II. I tried to explain that I wanted to recover the volume intact, and not recover individual files. The gentleman I spoke to, Bruce in technical support sent me the following response; Drive Genius does not currently support RAID. Nonetheless, if you are looking to recover data from the drives, we do have a beta feature on Data Rescue II that may be able to help you try to scan the drive. If you are interested, we can send you more information about it. Well, I asked for more information, and boy did he come through! The long and short of it, is that one of the features in the beta, would allow you to select any volume, or volumes, from your available drives, and offer to make a cloned copy of the combined RAID drives. It took a while, but after about 6 hours, my directories, data, and files were copied to a separate storage device. With a very minimum amount of moving some stuff around, I had all of my data back to it's original state. I was able to erase and reformat the original drives, and once again use them for storage. What a relief. This was for some data that went back over 25 years, that had been transfered from my old Apple II machine. All I can say is thank You ProSoft. You came through when I needed you the most!

Data Rescue II has saved the day again
Mike Norval

Data Rescue II has saved the day again, recovering files from a mirrored drive that had one drive go defunct, this is the second time for this machine (Mac OSX 10.3) and both times the files were fully recovered. I have been using data recovery on the Mac for years and in the past you had to be satisfied with whatever you could recover, with Data Rescue II I get all of my files, whew! Thanks.

very very good program
andy

very very good program no nonsense does everything that you want possibly the best program for data retrieval out there

Thank god for Data Rescue
Luke Strauss

Prosoft just recovered my personal financial records, my team's financial records, all our sponsorship everything, and pretty much anything else important to running a business... Thank god for Data Rescue

Thank you, you brilliant software engineers, for a program that was surely made by brainy angels.
Betsy Rogers

After almost 20 years as a computer user, I did the silliest thing, and accidentally initialized my primary photo storage disk. Yikes! Left with an erased disk, a Mac forum search led me to your highly recommended product, Data Rescue II, and I am at peace again! It saved just about everything, including 10 years of photos. Yes, I backup, but this was my backup disk! Thank you, you brilliant software engineers, for a program that was surely made by brainy angels.

Thanks again for a GREAT TOOL!!!
Kenneth Geiger

THANK YOU!!! For many years I relied on TechTools and DiskWarrior when something went South. I just had a corrupted disk on a PowerBook that DiskWarrior abdicated on and TechTools sort-of fixed -but, some low-level corruption remained. I bought a copy of DriveGenius and it repaired the problem. This saved me untold hours of rebuilding - DriveGenius will now be my primary drive maintenance and repair tool! Thanks again for a GREAT TOOL!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Mark Giloni

I just wanted to let you know that your product is great!!!!! My hard drive blew up and I could not get to the data at all. I had 40 gig worth of pictures and business files almost all of which I was able to recover using Data Rescue PC. The files included 3000+ irreplaceable pictures of cats that are at an animal shelter where I volunteer including many pictures of cats that have passed away. I estimate that 99.99% of the files were recovered - a few were not recoverable and a few showed up with the wrong names. I estimate that only 20-30 out of more than 20,000 files were unsuccessful or incorrect. Thanks you - Thank you - Thank you!!

Worth every cent!
Andy

Yesterday, I made a colossal mistake, and deleted an enormous number of client images that I thought I had backed up. Then, before I realised I made the mistake, I wrote to the drive for the afternoon. After the initial horror subsided slightly, I set about finding a product to get the files safely back onto my Mac. DR II got me quite a number of JPEGs from one drive; but amazingly, recovered every single processed TIFF from the drive where they were stored a couple of months ago, even though the drive has been in daily use. Worth every cent! Thanks, Andy

Your product has been a lifesaver!
David Blyth

I'm thrilled! Your drive recovery software worked great! It was many days faster (and probably hundreds of dollars less expensive) than a service. More important that speed and saving money was that my drive had lots of personal financial info in my QuickBooks and Quicken files. You've seen those identity theft commercials on TV. I didn't want to hand my personal info over to a stranger. Your product has been a lifesaver!

Thanks to Data Rescue II, I saved a packet and recovered my music collection.
Christopher

I was ready to spend hundreds on having my hard drive professionally salvaged. Thanks to Data Rescue II, I saved a packet and recovered my music collection. Out of 12,000 files, I lost only 2. Those aren't bad odds!!!!!

I will forever sing your praises!
Heidi Shanklin

We had an unrecoverable (so we thought) hard drive on our personal iMac. After finding out the price of having someone else do the recovery, we searched and found your product, which we downloaded. I will forever sing your praises! What an amazing piece of software. We were in the Apple Store in Portland, OR a year ago and someone came in asking about recovery software. Although we were just browsers at the store, it was my pleasure to tell them about Data Rescue. They immediately bought it. It has helped me recover more than my share of hard drives at the Oregon Zoo, where I am the sole IT support. Amazing software and thank goodness for your product.

Thank god for Prosoft!!
Luke Mandle

Thank god for Prosoft!! You saved my life. My hard drive failed today, right before a back-up cycle and no utility could restore it. Data Recover II got back the important files representing lot's of hard work. It's the best 100 bucks I've ever spent!

The best recovery software ever created, no doubt!

SUPER SUPER.
Capt Ric Sella

04-04-2006 I reviewed and tried some other disc/data hard drive recovery software...:(:( Save your money and time. :):) Data Recovery PC product did the job. My hard drive was clicking and fail fast.. and no Bios read.. I was able to excite the HD with Win98 OEM boot, and then Bios saw the HD, then reboot with Data Recovery PC cd, in Dos text mode, loaded USB driver with Data Recovery which reconized my dieing HD,, called tech support to ask what my best action would be, they suggusted Clone asap, as the drive was failing mechanically. Wallah, when Recovery PC finished it had recovered all my files for the clicking failing HD. :):) Need I say, I'm one happy camper.. !!!! I can't say enough.. Product Fantastic,, Tech support right in line with their product.. SUPER SUPER. Thanks Prosoft, Data Recovery PC Sincerely, Capt Ric

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.
Brian Carter

I have to say that I am very impressed with the RecoverSoft Data Rescue application that I purchased from you. It was a great relief to see all the "lost" data reappear. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.

- simply amazing
Neil Kesterson

My Mac drive finally decided to fail right before a recording session. The way it sounded, I thought it was completely gone. Thanks, Data Rescue was able to recover 100% of my data that I needed - simply amazing.

Just a few words to say to you a BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU!!!
Santiago BAYON, Geneva, Switzerland

Just a few words to say to you a BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU!!! Data Rescue II is still recovering my crashed backup disk but it works fine where all the so-called best disk utilities failed... Don't try it, just buy it! Sooner or later, Data Rescue II will do something good for you. THANK YOU!!! again Greetings from Geneva, CH

Wonderful program with a friendly interface and power to boot.
Anton

I just tried your Data rescue demo on my laptop. Wonderful program with a frendly interface and power to boot. It showed an excellent chance of recovery on my lost (unmountable) partition. Ten mega bites never looked so good. After hearing the noise the little hard made, I was sure I was in trouble, seeing that data made me smile. Thank you. Anton

Data Rescue II saved two hard drives that went down at the same time
DA Creggar

Data Rescue II saved two hard drives that went down at the same time from a directory problem generated by TechTool Pro. I can't say enough that is good about this program! Not only that but their customer service people are great too!

Your company and software engineers are AWESOME!
Ed Smith

Your company and software engineers are AWESOME! We were in the middle of an edit session when our RAID drives disappeared from the desktop. The drives were unrecoverable with several utilities-- a data recovery company had estimated $2000 to $6000 to restore the drives. Your product found the files and transfered them safely to a backup firewire drive in tact and ready for our edit session! Prosoft, not only have you saved me tons of money in out-of-pocket, but you've saved me costly re-editing and client embarassment! Thank you for having this product available. Data Rescue II is a great product and a great value!
Todd

After adding a second "backup" firewire disk that ending up corrupting the first disk's catalog (how ironic), I thought many 100's of hours of work on imovie and idvd, along with irreplaceable videos and pictures of my son were gone for good! I tried a few other product's "demos" and even purchased (and retuend) other products, but none worked anywhere close to as well as Data Rescue II. Compared to some software that charged by the GB, or a physical drive recovery specialists (who wanted $5,000 for all the data!), Data Rescue II is a great product and a great value!

Just wanted to say you guys have an amazing product!
Henry Feldman

Just wanted to say you guys have an amazing product! I had a 500gb drive full of a years worth of video projects. It was a mirrored drive, so when one mechanically failed I didn't worry. While that drive was in the shop, the mirror failed with a catastrophic software failure. Every other drive utility basically gave up and could see nothing. I read about your package and figured I had nothing to lose. 18 hours later, I had over 400gb of data back, some of which would take months to recreate. I don't know what voodoo you use, but it works! Thanks for saving my butt...

Saved my entire client list containing over 60000 files!!!
Tom Sommerseth

your product saved my entire corrupt hard drive. I had ran Diskwarrior: No result, just said it could not continue due to a harddrive malfunction. Techtool Pro ran for an entire week. No result, just corrupt files. Data Rescue II recovered my files in 5 minutes and copied them in 5 minutes time. Saved my entire client list containing over 60000 files!!! Thank you ProSoft Engineering! Tom, Mediadesigner, Norway Web: www.tomsommerseth.com

Good work Prosoft...!!!
Drew Rosen

The $60 I spent to upgrade MicroMat's TechTool Pro 4.06 was a fool's waste... Didn't work to save data... It did nothing but fail. DataRescue 2 saved all the photos that were accidentally deleted from iPhoto on a PowerBook G4. First pass. No problems. Good work Prosoft...!!! * Drew Rosen CompuNirvana.com

I'd like to say THANK YOU to Prosoft Eng for Data Rescue II!!! It saved my business!!
Laine Anderson

I'd like to say THANK YOU to Prosoft Eng for Data Rescue II!!! It saved my business!! I had a perfectly good external hard drive, computer and non-corrupt data. I made one simple change to the metadata of a digital RAW photo file in the File Browser of Photoshop CS and everything about the image was instantly erased with the exception of the thumbnail and file name. Photoshop wouldn't open the image any longer and the Nikon software didn't recognize the file. I was lucky and had enough sense not to write anything else to the drive on which the files were stored and got Data Rescue II to recover the lost information. It took about 14 hours (well worth the wait) and everything was restored. I asked for a recommendation from Apple Computer for a good data recovery program and this one was what they told me to get. I'm glad I got it. Thanks a bunch for such a great piece of software! Laine Anderson

Data Rescue II does exactly what it says on the tin.
James Wright

Data Rescue II does exactly what it says on the tin. I must of tried four other products before I found DR II, how I wished I found it first. Worth every single penny paid for it! Not only did it save our data, it saved us loosing our customers too! Thank you VERY much. James.

easy and affordable
Becky Hatt

THANK-YOU! I got back months worth of priceless personal photos I thought were gone forever - and it was easy and affordable. Thanks again!

A gift. Nothing else even came close to even seeing my files !!!
Michael Caufman

Thanks !!!! A gift. Nothing else even came close to even seeing my files !!! Saved my files from Xserve RAID with about 650,000 files - only 600 or so listed as corrupt (heck they may have been before my fiasco) Took away my weekend, but saved weeks of headaches. (RAID support was dismissed in FAQ doc, but it worked for me! ) IGNORE partitions - checked in prefs. Data Rescue MAC v 10.4.3

I am singing the praises of Data Rescue X right now.
Randy Burleson

Hey guys.. I had used an older version of TechTool Pro 4 on Tiger OS 10.4.2. to defrag my drive.... Boy that was a BIG MISTAKE! I realize this was TOTALLY my fault and NOT the fault of TechTool Pro. I should have been more observant and used the newer version and all would have been well, but I messed up. Others recommened Disk Warrior antother great product but..Disk Warrior was unable to repair the drive because it was too badly damaged. However... Data Rescue by Prosoft Engineering really saved my bacon. It was a rather lengthy process and I only had a few casualties..corrupted files..but it worked and I am back up and running now. Once I recovered my hard drive to my external FW drive. I erased and reinstalled Tiger from scratch on the hard drive and then copied over the user files and applications. Some applications were corrupted but I will reinstall those from disc anyway. I am singing the praises of Data Rescue X right now. It was able to save what would have been an otherwise hopeless situation. I highly recommend it! __________________

ata Rescue certainly rescued me from two major disasters at once: within a couple of hours,
Bill Kincaid

My home Mac holds not only essential work information, but also my hobby: digital fine art. When one of my drives developed a critical fault as I was preparing a new marketing campaign AND getting ready for a gallery exhibition, I was in an absolute panic. Data Rescue certainly rescued me from two major disasters at once: within a couple of hours, I had saved all of my irreplacable files to two other drives (hey, I don't ever want to be in that situation again!) and my system was back to normal. THANKS, PROSOFT!

From panic to calm all thanks to Data Rescue X.
Drew C

My G4 external firewire hard drive became corrupt and would mount with 162Gb of data on it. I reinitialized it and fortunately Data Rescue X saved the day and I was able to recover everything onto another hard drive. From panic to calm all thanks to Data Rescue X.

It saved me many more hours of work.
Adam Berch

My external hard drive crased with all of my media on it. I bought your software and after I ran it, I got all of my files back. It was great. It saved me many more hours of work.

Keep up the good work!
Marten van Gelderen

Yesterday I bought your software for my 80 year old neighbour who inadvertedly erased his disk while editing a video film he was working on for the last 2 years. It is my pleasure (and his, of course) to announce that I was able to recover both the video and the audio of his precious work. The investment in your software was more than worth it. My neighbour - still a little bit shaky - is now finalizing his work to write it to tape and DVD. Keep up the good work!

It not only delivers what you claim, it is simple to use, smart and void of glitches.
Jerry Milam

Hello, I was an Apple VAR in the 3D CAD and Digital Imagery Industries for many years. I was always on the lookout for software that deliveried what it claimed. After purchasing a copy of your Rescue X MAC this week, I want to express my appreciation for your product. It not only delivers what you claim, it is simple to use, smart and void of glitches. Regards

In a word, TAH-DAH!!!
P.A. McEwin

In a word, TAH-DAH!!! It's like *magic*! I really thought everything on my external drive was gone - Data Rescue got it back!! Every important file I needed back I got back, with no panic attacks or hair pulling. To me, a small business owner, loss of data means loss of income. Data Rescue saved the files, saved time, saved money, saved my business. I can't thank you enough. Two thumbs up for Prosoft - one for the software, one for great customer service people who actually listen to the customers.

"THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!" I will definitely recommend your product!
Mauro Barzola

Hello, I recently purchased your software, RecoverSoft Data Rescue PC. I must say it did just that. By mistake I had formatted my hard drive that contained my back up after my regular drive crashed. I was really in a panic and my wife wasn't to happy! The back up contained all the pictures ever taken of my 3 daughters since birth. Needless to say it was priceless data (for us at least). I tried a software called recover my miles. Which came up in most search engines. Being that it had a 30 day Money GUARANTEE. I tried the demo version. It scan my drive (200g) and it took about 8 hours. However it saw all my files. I was amazed. So I purchased the key. Once I did and tried saving may data. I was only able to recover 2% (not really to much of a recovery). I tried their support which was unless. Just for the fact that they were based out of Australia. I think it's like a 15 hr difference. So I kept searching and came across your product. I must admit I was hesitant after my experience with Recover my files. But I was desperate. I downloaded the demo, created the boot disk and it scanned my drive (200g) in an hour. I was amazed but since my past scan, I wasn't yet happy. I started reading your manual and saw that files had a rating. All my files stated EXCELLENT. Yet I still wasn't 100% positive. So I called your tech support and asked some questions. They were pretty confident in your product. So I purchased the key. Last night (6/23/05) I did the scan and selected to recover the files. This time I selected the only folder I really cared for. The recovery took about an hour, which was going to an external drive. Once it was done. I saved the scan and plugged the USB drive to my laptop. Once I opened the recovered folder. I almost CRIED when I saw ALL the pictures of my kids. It was midnight and had to go to sleep but I was so excited and wanted to keep recovering my data. ( I really couldn't sleep that night). I must admit, I was about to call out sick just to recover the rest of my data (being that your product worked SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!) I just wanted to share this experience with your team and say "THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!" I will definitely recommend your product! I have already contacted someone that could use your product (I read about her in a thread). I'm sure she will be ordering your product. Once again THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! Mauro Barzola (Forever a Loyal Customer)

Data Rescue X(Mac) is great!
Donna Turcot

Data Rescue X(Mac) is great! It recovered an entire iPhoto Library and many other files when Disk Utility and Disk Warrior couldn't. And the on-line 'Try' feature is beyond great.......it's immediate help. It takes a lot of confidence in a product to put it out there on a 'try before buying' basis; confidence that's well placed, I think. Thanks.

"Data Rescue PC" is fantastic!

Your product "Data Rescue PC" is fantastic. Your product is the best I have ever seen and works exactly like you say. I really recommend it to everyone. Carmela Garcia Sweden

"The software is a worthy addition to a technicians arsenal. Many thanks!"
James Beynon

I have just completed the recovery of the applications, home folder and the contents of a separate partition from an iBook G3. The computer would not mount in firewire mode and the disk itself was producing very odd sounds. The data on the drive was critical and irreplaceable. No other utilities would recognize it. I had purchased Data Rescue X on the basis of the testimonials some time ago and was not disappointed. The software is a worthy addition to a technicians arsenal. Many thanks !

" I cannot fathom what we would have done had we lost weeks of edits, forever."
Dan Pinder

I just turned yet another colleague onto Data Rescue X. I found your product back in 2003 when about one third of the music for a summer blockbuster got lost on two drives that went down 60 seconds apart, 3 days from final completion! 20-hour days, the project being spread over many SCSI drives and no breaks ensured that our backups suffered. In a few hours, we had it all back as well as a vow to find a better backup strategy. I cannot fathom what we would have done had we lost weeks of edits, forever.

MUCH BETTER THAN FLOWERS
Bruce Mentzer

You passed the following testimony along to Valorie Koch in Tech Support. I would like to get your permission to post it on our website. All I can say is thanks so much for such a great product! I just reclaimed a few years of work off my wife's, "the professor's" old computer. This is the second hard-drive failure we've had in a month (one on the old Pismo, one on a brand new 12" Power Book). You just made me a much loved man. The best $100 I've ever spent! MUCH BETTER THAN FLOWERS!!!

They said it couldn't be done...your software did it!
R.G.

They said it couldn't be done...your software did it! I accidentally trashed & deleted my music folder with 700 songs on my Mac OS X (Panther). Your product recovered 100% of my music! Thank you for such great software!

Thanks for making what could have been a serious nightmare and nice experience.
Craig Perry-Ollila

I reformatted a partition on a 160 gig hard drive on my Mac G5 not realizing it had my digital images in a folder buried 4 layers in. I lost 6,500 images and 40 gig worth of information in a click of the mouse. I was not only sickened at my stupid move, I realized some (many) had not been backed up on DVD. I did a search on the net for a solution. I tried one program it recovered 25 images and none were important. I downloaded your amazing product and with in 45 minutes it had found all 40 gig of information and was ready to recover it. In less than one and half hours it had restored all of my files and they are now secure on DVD's. Thanks for making what could have been a serious nightmare and nice experience. Craig Perry-Ollila

Your product has saved me lots of money and hours of aggravation. Thanks!
Eddy Noy

I bought Data Rescue a year ago after a firewire conflict damaged my hard drive and it worked like a charm. This week, my ipod mysteriously erased 10 gigs of music and, again, Data Rescue worked its magic. Your product has saved me lots of money and hours of aggravation. Thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Fred Manskow Nymoen

When my powerbook died, I removed the hard drive, inserted it into an USB cabinet and went to work - or so I thought. The hard drive was severely damaged, and Apple's disk utility, Alsoft's Diskwarrior and other programs merely glanced in its general direction before going off for a long, slow crash. Not so with Data Rescue X. Not only did it retrieve all my stored files in pristine condition, it did so extremely fast. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Rred Manskow Media Design - Oslo, Norway

Thank you so much, and I have already told many other Macintosh users about your product (and a few PC users, too!) Kettlesprings thanks you.
Evelyn Groves

Recently our area was subjected to ice storms that brought down trees and electric wires and caused multiple power outages. I thought my company files were safe on an external LaCie Hard Drive that had been so dependable I had become careless. While I had saved some of my company files onto CDs, I had not backed up my applications (also on the external drive) and the data bases with current customers and fifty years of designs. Furthermore, I had not had the wisdom to invest in a UPS device for shutting down the system in the event of power outages. I was merrily working away when the first outage occurred. After a short time the currect came back, but this repeated several times, and it was just too much for my hard drive. The first thing I noticed was an enormous increase in the time it took to boot up the system. Then, after I had promised a customer by phone to send her jpegs of some designs within minutes, I clicked to launch an application and got messages the application was damaged. It wouldn't launch and soon my computer could not see the external hard drive at all. Tech support from LaCie suggested Data Rescue from your company. The demo convinced me it would be possible to recover my files, and after downloading the unlocking code, I thankfully recovered all my files. Your program is probably the easiest and most efficient program I've ever used. Although it could not save or repair my ailing external drive, Disk Rescue recovered years of work that could never be recreated exactly. I was extremely reliieved to have lost only minimal information. Today, Kettlesprings is back in business with working printers, scanners, email, records, a backup system and a UPS with surge protection for all peripherals. Thank you so much, and I have already told many other Macintosh users about your product (and a few PC users, too!) Kettlesprings thanks you.

Phew! You saved my life
Alyson Rhodes

Phew! You saved my life. My (almost full) 250gb backup disk failed. Data Rescue retrieved all the files in perfect condition. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much I'll testimony to everyone about your wonderful product!!!
Pier Paolo Rovatti

Thank you a lot I saved my work ( video and photo of my work) on a hard disk La Cie formatted mac, impossible !!! for two software houses and two Mac shops that told me to send to a data rescue organization with a lot of expenses (1500 euro)!!! Thank you so much I'll testimony to everyone about your wonderful product!!!

Thank you Prosoft!!
Jeff Chasick

After sending my drive to a recovery company and waiting 2 weeks to discover that they could not recover the files I really needed from my drive, I ran Data Rescue on my drive twice and was able to recover the critical data that the recovery company could not. We recommend Data Rescue on our website to users having disk problems, and Prosoft applications in general to customers looking for solutions that work. Thank you Prosoft!!

Thanks, guys - you made my day!
Lawrence Schwedler

I create music and sound for a video game developer, and use a ProTools HD Accel system on a Mac G5. When the hard disk failed to mount one morning, I tried Apple's Disk Utlity, Disk Warrior and TechTools Pro. Disk Utility and TechTool Pro reported that the hardware was fine, but were unable to mount the two-disk 500GB striped RAID volume. Disk Warrior claimed to have successfully rebuilt the directory, but was unable to replace the original directory. As a last resort before sending the hardware to a data recovery service I decided to try Prosoft's demo (in spite of their statement that Data Rescue does not support RAID.) Sure enough, a Thorough Scan identified the entire contents of the missing volume. I bought the full version and recovered all but a few of the 172,858 files. Thanks, guys - you made my day!

DiskFirstAid and DiskWarror, said no!
David Hoerl

DiskFirstAid and DiskWarror said no - but DataRescue recovered virtually all my files! The partition map on the drive was corrupted due to a power hit, and the other utilities couldn't do anything. With Data Rescue X, I was able to recover 99.99% of my files off a 250G drive - thousands of songs and movies.

Data Rescue Saved 210GB of my Data
Jason Cunningham

I experienced an external drive crash on a Western Digital 250 GB drive that contained all of my itunes, home movies, and iPhotos. About 75% of it was backed up on another drive. Unfortunately, when I pulled the external backup drive from the closet and plugged it in, I grabbed the wrong power cord and fired it, too. Bad day. I researched Norton, Disk Warrior, Disk Ten and several other Mac recovery / repair utilities. (Remember, there is a difference between restoring the broken drive and recovering files from a broken drive.) I decided on Data Rescue AND Disk Warrior. Data rescue recovers lost files from a crashed disk and saves them to another location - like another external drive. This is the FIRST step you should take if you want to save your data and fix the drive. Data Rescue will try to save all the files, but won't actually alter your crashed drive. Once you alter the crashed drive, you are pretty much stuck with what you have after it's altered. In my case, Data Rescue was able to retrieve all 210GB of lost data and save it to another drive. Life saver. The drawback was that it took about 30 hours of processing on my G5 1.6 single processor with 3GB of RAM. It ran for a couple nights and while I was at work. Seemed like a long wait, but the results were 100% satisfactory. Definitely take some time to read the manual and work with the program. It can be fine tuned to maximize your results. After Data Rescue saved my data to another drive, I ran Disk Warrior, which seems to be the most highly recommended disk repair utility for a Mac. The results were not as good - possibly because I had other applications / processes running at the same time (albeit none were accessing the crashed drive that Disk Warrior was trying to rescue). Disk Warrior crashed the first time it ran and the bad drive just self unmounted. I ran it a second time and it was able to repair the disk. However, only about 1/3 of my data had been saved. File names were distorted in some cases and the file / folder structure was lost. Maybe this was from the first crash, but I am very, very happy to have run Data Rescue first! As a side note, Disk Warrior was still worth the price b/c, at about half the cost of my repaired 250GB drive, it saved the drive, which I reformatted and continue to use. But, for getting data from a crashed drive, I would always use Data Rescue - FIRST. If you are reading this, sorry about your crash and I hope your results are as good as mine. Data Rescue deserves a lot of credit. One more thing, I called the company with a couple questions, a very calm and sympathetic technician returned the call to help / console me. This was in very stark contrast to the Western Digital support line, which just told me something to the effect of "too bad, so sad, your data is lost and doesn't matter to us."

Data Rescue Rocks!
Sean MacCarthy

You guys ROCK!!! My SMART diagnostics failed and I was told to try tekserve or drive savers. I googled for data recovery and discovered Data Rescue X. I figured $55 off amazon was a lot better than 600 bucks minimum. Anyway, I'm a grad student and had all my work on my hard drive. I bought an external enclosure for my bum drive, hooked it up and "alakazam" Data Rescue recognized it when Disk Warrior couldn't, scanned the disk and was able to recover all of the data with few minor exceptions. I even got back 3 GB movie files. I don't know how you kids did it, but this product rocks!!! Thanks again so much!!!

Don't pay high prices to have you drive recovered when you can do it yourself with Data Rescue!
Richard Hubbard

After a power outage I lost my whole folder of digital photos, including ones from my engagement. These pictures were priceless, and I began to hate myself for not backing them up. I tried other program such as Norton, and FileSalvage, but with very little luck. I was about to give up when I found some people online talking about Data Rescue X. I downloaded it and left it going overnight. When I checked it in the morning, there were all of my precious photos that had been lost! I have no idea how this program works, but it sure did the job! I have found my photos that I would have never gotten back with ANY other program. Don't pay high prices to have you drive recovered when you can do it yourself with Data Rescue! Thank you so much, you saved me!

Prosoft really Rocks!!
Bill

I can't thank you guys enough. Data Rescue does what it says. An extra bonus is the peolpe working the phones. Great from start to finish. Thanks again, Bill

Unbelievable - Data Rescue saved my bacon
Jeff Seaver

A damaged LaCie (400) 80gb drive that was formatted, damaged and erased - and it's back. Accidentally formatted while trying to resolve the Jaguar>Panther firewire mess. DriveSavers quoted $500-2700 for the repair. I downloaded Data Rescue X v 10.3, and it didn't get the data back properly - so I gave up (all other over-the-counter drive utilities known to the Mac universe had been exhausted). I rescued what I could from other backups (DAT, DVD-RAM, cd-rom, other HDs etc) and gave up ever getting the data off the external HD, even erased the drive and renamed it, but then kept it unattached, hoping against hope I might get it back or spring the $$ and have DriveSavers do it. Then, when LaCie issued their latest firmware update, ran that, and Data Rescue X 10.4 arrived, ran that: and VOILA - have gotten many files back, so far all good. Must be some kind of File Allocation Table in there somewhere and Data Rescue found it and put it to work and it saved my bacon. JPGs, TIFFs, MP3s, MOVs, you name it. All working perfectly. Data Rescue GOD BLESS YOU!

Data Rescue is a life-saver.
Michael Sidoric

Two weeks ago the hard-drive on my Apple G4 Cube died during my nightly backup. In the morning I realized that many accounting files I had worked on the previous day were lost as the drive failed before they had been processed. A quick trip to the Apple Store here in Austin produced a high recommendation from employee Jameson who said that he'd had astounding results with Data Rescue in similar circumstances. The purchase was a no-brainer. The 'recovery' of the 30GB drive took almost 19 hours, filled with ominous fault notifications and horrifying grinding sounds. I left the office that night sure that my data was gone. The following morning, Data Resue had done the job and recovered *everything* I had been worried about. The results were absolutely astounding. NOTHING WAS LOST. And yes, I have told everyone I know that Data Rescue is actually a Life Saver. When you folks gave a superb presentation to our CapMac Users group here in Austin last year -- I never imagined how much I would need your products. I'm convinced. And when I give my shareware presentation to the August meeting (www.capmac.org), I hope your ears burn as I mention how Data Rescue recovered my presentation. Please pass along my sincre thanks to you entire crew!

I could think of a thousand words to describe how wonderfully Data Rescue worked for me.
Michael Wandmacher

I had a firewire drive containing 115 GB of extremely critical proprietary data crash on me in the middle of the night as I worked against a deadline. Both Tech Tool 4 and Norton were employed to supposedly "protect" this drive, but neither could recognize or mount the drive, let alone recover any data. To worsen matters, this failure occurred after using Norton's Speed Disk . I downloaded your product, did a Thorough Scan and managed to recover ALL of my data within three hours. Plus, I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE that your software lets me know how long each process will take as it completes its tasks. What can I say, I'm sold. And I thank you all at Prosoft for saving me from what previously would have been a major, humungous and most grave disaster, even when employing the so-called "best" data recovery protection. Data Rescue X rocks. Norton and Micromat should be bowing before you. Sincerely, Michael Wandmacher

Definitely my #1 recovery tool
M Browne

I accidently did a partial re-initialization of my primary hard drive (when meaning to do my secondary) ... I panicked ... Norton wouldn't even SEE the drive to mount it. I downloaded the Data Rescue demo and behold -- it not only saw the drive but built up a VERY accurate list of files from me to recover from. I tried one ... it worked ... and I then promptly bought the full version. The results were remarkable ... Data Rescue not only recovered my files but also maintained the folder / sub-folder structure! Definitely my #1 recovery tool in my arsenal now.

You guys saved my butt!
Rick Shields

I have a sudden drive failure on my powerbook. Diskwarrior, Norton and Apple's Disk Utility couldn't do anything. Data Rescue recovered EVERYTHING, except 1 PDF which I didn't need! And it looks like you just did it again. I had another failure on another machine. Again you are the only product that worked. I will be placing an order for a site license of Data Rescue tomorrow! Thank you so much!!!

Your product is phenomenal!
eddy noy

holy crap! you guys just saved me about 1000 clams. your product is phenomenal! much thanks!

Products and services are priceless
Rod A.

I accidently did not fully save all of the important graphic files on the second hard drive before I reinstalled the OS9 & OSX restoral disks. 80% of the more important files were deleted. I called a few data recovery companies and they were charging between $600 to $1500 to recover the data. And even then, they said they couldn't recover all the files because the primary hard drive was reformatted. Since I lost all the files on OS 9, we decided to purchase Data Rescue "Classic". For 2 nights and 2 days we were able to recover 95% of the files lost. 3 years of work deleted would have been devastating to our company. But Data Rescue did save our day. May I add, their customer service is on point. They emailed me within the hour and contacted me by phone 2 hrs later. In my opinion, their products and services are priceless!

Data Rescue: an unexpected miracle
Derek Meade

I recently lost 115 GB of data on an external firewire, ironically in the process of backing it up (with Retrospect!). The cost of a data recovery service was prohibitive. ProSoft worked with me tweaking the software through multiple betas and, ultimately, I was able to recover everything - perfectly intact. An unexpected miracle. The product is a lifesaver and the support as good as it gets. Unless you've mangled your drive, don't ever send it out for data recovery without trying this product first.

Data Rescue is a godsend that allowed me to rescue unreplaceable files
lance laspina

I thought for the data on my drive was gone for good, but I decided to give it one last try by downloading the demo of Data Rescue. Amazingly, I was able to recover EVERYTHING I needed so I purchased a license immediately. This is truly remarkable, especially since I used both the OS 9 and OS X versions of DiskWarrior, Disk First Aid, and Tech Tool Deluxe to no avail. This program is a Godsend that allowed me to rescue unreplaceable files. Thanks so very much.

I SAVED ALL MY DATA!
CAMILO HERNANDEZ

KICK ASS PRODUCTS!!!!!!! THANK YOU GUYS, I SAVED ALL MY DATA!!!!!!! EXCELLENT TECHNICAL SUPPORT (VALERIE )

Data Rescue saved me hundreds of unbillable hours!
Kent Lufkin

A couple of late-night mistakes and a mouse click accidentally erased 3.7gb of client project files intended for archiving. After frantically exploring inadequate software options (Norton, Tech Tool, etc.) and disc recovery firms (with quotes of up to $5700), a friend's friend put me on to Data Rescue Classic. After running the program in its Thorough mode last night (the block scan took about 11 hours), it found ALL of my accidentally-deleted files. A few mouse clicks and 50 minutes later, my missing files were all restored. None of the files were damaged by accidental overwriting. All were recovered in their original folders and hierarchy. A few more mouse clicks and another 15 minutes, and all were safely burned onto a DVD+R disc and locked away for safekeeping in a fireproof media safe. Data Rescue saved me hundreds of unbillable hours that would have been required to rebuild the missing files.

Data Rescue X recovered the files I needed when neither Alsoft DiskWarrior nor Norton DiskDoctor could!
Neil A. Beardsley

Data Rescue X recovered the files I needed when neither Alsoft DiskWarrior nor Norton DiskDoctor could! Thanks for a great product.

The Prosoft Netware Mac client for OS 10 was a breeze to install and configure.
George Crossland

The Prosoft Netware Mac client for OS 10 was a breeze to install and configure. I had my Mac user on our Netware server in a matter of minutes. Thanks for a great product!

Anyone with valuable information on hard drives should be aware of Data Rescue X.
Keith Robinson

I thought I had lost nearly 500 GB out of 1.9 Terabytes. The files are film scans, which would have cost tens of thousands of dollars to replace. Everything was recovered. Anyone with valuable information on hard drives should be aware of Data Rescue X.

This morning when I awoke, Data Rescue said it found my files!
Jimi Sweet

I am truly speechless. Yesterday I was scrambling to recover the data from an external 80 GB FireWire disk. I tried Disk First Aid, DiskWarrior and Norton Utilities. I decided to buy Disk Rescue X because at that point I was beyond desperate. This morning when I awoke, Data Rescue said it found my files! The complete recovery will take almost three more hours, but it will probably be the most satisfying three hours of my professional career!

I downloaded Data Rescue, as a last-ditch effort to salvage data, and it worked!
Ed Park

My iBook hard drive recently, inexplicably crashed, taking down a year's worth of data that I hadn't backed up - such a dunce! The drive would not mount, so the first thing I tried was booting from the 9.1 OS disk and using Disk First Aid. That didn't help. Next, I bought Norton. I actually tried DiskWarrior Recovery Edition first (it comes on the Norton CD), and that seemed to work OK - i.e., I could see some files - but then I got greedy, and without actually taking the time to back up the files, I decided to run Norton Volume Manager to try to "fix" things. Such a mistake! I think Volume Manager succeeded in completely destroying the Catalog when trying to reconstruct the directory. Lots of errors everywhere! At this point, when I tried to run DiskWarrior Recovery Edition, DiskWarrior told me that there were zero files available. Next, I tried Norton Unerase. This gave me roughly 4GB of file fragments. Trying to piece together data from those 4GB of file fragments, identifying data forks and resource forks that were supposed to go together, etc. would have probably taken the better part of the rest of my life. Finally, in desperation, really, I downloaded Data Rescue as a last-ditch effort to salvage data - and it worked! It took a long time, but 99% of the data on the drive was ultimately recoverable. I bought it, and happily copied all important data over to my Firewire drive. Thanks so much! This really is a fantastic piece of software-- worth every penny.

Well, Data Rescue recovered all my data from my firewire drive - 79 gigs of info.
Doug Tessler

I had several thousands of dollars worth of footage and graphics, ten months worth of projects! I contacted a company called Total Recall and they quoted me anywhere from $500 to 3000 dollars. Then I found your free download online and decided to try your product Data Rescue. Data Rescue recovered all my data from my firewire drive - 79 gigs of info. Thank-you so much for a great product and at a great price too!

Data Rescue was so user friendly I didn't even have to read any directions before putting it to work!
Greg Porter, Augusta, GA

What can I say? Where do I begin? I downloaded Data Rescue per the link ProSoft Engineering provided and accessed it with the serial number they emailed me. I was taken aback by the power of that application. I had a "dead" IBM Deskstar 61 GB HD with about 59 GB of information on it - much of which was sound and photo files. (Many of the photo files were taken with a digital camera and downloaded to my hard drive.) The hard drive had not been backed up in a long time - I hope I've learned my lesson - so I was in a bit of a panic over the situation. I tried replacing the circuit board with another identical HD; I tried Norton Utilities; I tried Disk Warrior; I tried Anubis Utility; I tried VST SoftRaid (which was the driver loaded on the HD); I tried several shareware "volume mounters," and of course Mac OS 9.1 Drive Setup. The best I could do was get some of those applications to recognize that the HD at least existed, but in each of those cases (Drive Setup, SoftRaid, Anubis Utility) the applications informed me I needed to initialize the HD. Disk Warrior is a helpful utility for cleaning up and optimizing a messy HD, but it didn't even recognize the "dead" HD at all. One of the volume mounters, a simple application called Mount Everything, at least identified bad sectors, although it couldn't do anything with them. The Anubis Utility tried to help, but couldn't read the driver descriptor at block 0 - whatever that means. Anubis also tried to scan the HD and move bad sectors, but kept locking up about half way through. I was resolved to accepting that fact that I was going to lose the files because I didn't want to spend several hundred dollars by sending it off to have the stuff extracted. Then my brother-in-law referred me to your website. The rest is history. What a deal! Disk Rescue saw it immediately! The program was so user friendly I didn't even have to read any directions before putting it to work. It took a while - 59 GB of info is a lot to extract - but it found EVERYTHING! I didn't lose a single file or folder. Not only that, I retrieved some stuff I had deleted long ago but when seeing it realized I had could put it to use again. If you can't tell, I'm still blown away.

This is the backup software I've been looking for.
Colin Gerbode

I dropped by your booth at Macworld San Francisco and bought a copy of Data Backup X... great job! This is the backup software I've been looking for. It's easy to use yet flexible enough to handle a variety of needs, and unlike some backup packages it doesn't take months to figure out how to use it. Keep it up!

...I downloaded the evaluation copy of Data Rescue and on my second try managed to recover the damaged file.
Ellen Nickerson

A few days ago I realized I was unable to fully backup my PrintSmith data. I eventually realized that a data file called "Jobs" apparently resided on a bad sector of the HD. Not only was I unable to copy or duplicate the document, PrintSmith was also no longer able to display job descriptions for many of our recent invoices. Following the advice of a friend, I downloaded the evaluation copy of DataRescue and on my second try managed to recover the damaged file. Even though I set Data Rescue to zero out corrupted areas of the file, all the data now seems to be in tact and we are now successfully running our PrintSmith program on another hard drive. We will purchase your program. Thanks

Data Rescue absolutely saved my life!
Kent Hooper

Data Rescue absolutely saved my life! My 120 gig drive went down, and Diskwarrior, TechTool, and Norton couldn't touch it. I had just finished mixing a project the night before, and hadn't had a chance to backup yet. Without your software, I would have had to bring back the artist to re-sing all the vocals, or send the drive to a very costly recovery company. In 6 hours I had all imporant data on the drive recovered. It's been the best $89 I've spent in a VERY long time. Thanks again!

If it was not for Data Rescue I would have lost years of hard work.
John Diel

Over the past two years I have been happy with my iMac DV, from Apple. Just recently, my hard-drive started crashing a lot. My iMac started to go crazy and flash a folder with a happy mac face with each start-up, making it impossible to finish my work. The day I recevied my Data Rescue CD was a day I will remember for the rest of my life. I simply installed the CD-ROM and was able to pull all of my files off my iMac and save them onto another computer. Shortly after that my hard-drive gave its last gasp. If it was not for Data Rescue I would have lost years of hard work. Data Rescue saved the New Year. Thanks to the staff of PROSOFT Engineering, my video life is back in order! Many Thanks! John Diel

Data Rescue - spectacular! It did what Norton DD and Disk Warrior couldn't.
Howard D Driver

Data Rescue - spectacular! It did what Norton DD and Disk Warrior couldn't. 80 gigs containing everything I've ever done on a Mac since the Mac Plus 18 years ago including all my digital pictures of my kids. It took 44 hours to scan the disk then recovered everything including file hierarchy, correct icons, the works. Awesome!

I was able to recover all but nine files out of nearly 16,000 on a 100gb hard drive.
Mark Buckner

Data Rescue really did the job! I was able to recover all but nine files out of nearly 16,000 on a 100gb hard drive. This drive contained virtually every game-action image from all of last season and the first half of this season. I shoot 100% digital, so these represented our entire archive. These photos are crucial to our team's marketing and promotional efforts, and their recovery was imperative. I first contacted several "data recovery services" and of those who would give me an estimate, they ranged in price from $500 to $3500. Looking for a more immediate and less expensive solution, I found Data Rescue via a web search. Data Rescue turned out to be not just effective, but a real bargain. Thanks for saving the day!

Data Rescue for Mac OS X is absolutley amazing, awesome & incredible!
Thomas Haak

Ladies & Gentlemen, I have to say: Data Rescue for Mac OS X is absolutley amazing, awesome & incredible! It got all (!) my data (word documents, audio files, quicktime etc) back even after I reinitialised my external 30 GB firewire drive. Scan block allocation with iBook 800 took about two and a half hours - afterwards the program did list up files which I deleted months ago. It did save the chosen ones to another harddrive. Again: absolutely great and recommendable software and worth the price! thank you + best regards!

This software saved my rear end!
Mike

I have never reviewed ANY software until now. This software saved my rear end! I cannot believe that Norton, Tech Tool, and others have not helped me in the past. I am terribly impressed with "Data Rescue". This software rescued data from an external firewire hard drive that kept displaying a message that I needed to initialize (in OS 9 and 10.2.3). Thank you and please send me information on downloading updates. I had my Christmas miracle.

Data Rescue saved us from disaster. I cannot thank you enough.
Ron Stephens

When one of the audio drives in our Recording Studio refused to mount, Data Rescue recovered 40 Gb of irreplaceable audio data. That was after a similar product - costing 4 times as much - failed to even recognize the file names. Data Rescue saved us from disaster. I cannot thank you enough.

I was able to recover all the needed documents as well as personal data
Patti Van Tine

Thanks for a great piece of software... Surely has been a tremendous help to me!! I was doing some consulting work for a local college and if not for your program, Data Rescue, I would have nearly lost critical data after a problem developed with my hard drive. I used every utility imaginable and was almost ready to take the drive in for professional and costly data recovery when someone suggested I check out your program. I did and fortunately, with Data Rescue, I was able to recover all the needed documents as well as personal data that would have been nearly impossible to replace! Thanks Again!

WOW!!! it managed to recover 99.5% of all my files!
James McAllister

I was fitting a new drive into my new G4 and something went wrong. When I rebooted the machine, MAC OS X was just looping. So I tried using Norton Disk Doctor. At first the drive would mount, and Norton Disk Doctor would have a go, then the drive would just not mount at all. Even Disk Doctor could not see it. I was crying with the thought that I had lost all my software backups and 4 months worth of graphic work files. I just had to go out to talk to my friend, I was really depressed. Big time. All the time I was thinking what can I do? I was even thinking about shipping the drive off to experts to see if they could have it rescued (money was no object). Then I came upon Data Rescue from a third party software site, since I have never even heard of it, I thought that nothing could get these files back. So I tested a file with the demo version, to my surprise it actually worked!!! So I paid for the full version. I left it to work over night, and hoped that it was able to (at least) recover some of the files. Then in the morning the first thing I did was to check the computer. WOW!!! it managed to recover 99.5% of all my files. I had not expected this, and was totally amazed. This is the reason why I have spent time writing this. And only if more people knew about this product, then alot more people could be as happy as I was when I got my data back. The only thing I would say, that it would be nice to see this on a bootable OS X cd.

Happy Newly Weds, finally, thanks to Prosoft Engineering and Data Rescue!
Paterik Tobias

Having just returned from our eight week honeymoon in Europe, (4 weeks in Switzerland and 4 weeks in Italy), I discovered that my wife had been removing the 128mb 'SmartMedia' cards from our new Olympus Camedia C-4040-Z Digital still camera without turning the camera off. Thus I was unable to download the 4000+ pictures to my Mac G4 cube. I had tried to get help from the SmartMedia manufacture, and Olympus as well, all to no avail. I also tried various other, (not worth mentioning since they didn't work), products. Finally after several frustrating weeks of this I came across 'DATA RESCUE' while surfing the Internet. I downloaded the free demo version and tested it out on, first one, then all 8 of my 128mb SmartMedia cards. I immediately ordered the full version, loaded it onto my computer and rescued ALL of our honeymoon and our wedding pictures to our computer. THANK YOU, Prosoft Engineering, for a wonderful product and for rescuing us from our disaster as it were.

My client was forever in my debt and the call more than paid for the product.
Doreen Sullivan

I had a client who shoots his assignments on digital format. After a full day of shooting an event that spanned the entire day he somehow lost his files - about 750 to be exact. After retracing his steps he told me he formatted the microdrive and shot about 10 frames on the new format before he realized the day before was gone. I had just purchased Data Rescue a few days earlier for just such an occasion but was doubtful as to how it would work. Norton data recovery has never been very good so I promised only to try. I ran the program and was shocked to find not only did I get 740 images back, but they were not corrupt and were perfect. My client was forever in my debt and the call more than paid for the product. Thanks for writing the best software I have used in such a long time. I was waiting to be disappointed in some way but that never happened. I now have a better way to service my clients.

I was able to save everything and at a fraction of the cost!
Bob Prichard

Last year I started my photo restoration and digital editing company, ArtisticLicense. As my business was taking off, I was too busy to get around to backing up my work. Of course, that's when my 6-month-old internal hard drive just disappeared from view. None of the other well-known resource products could even see that I had an unmounted disk. The repair shop wanted hundreds of dollars for a repair with little hope of data recovery. The other option, a data recovery service, was likely to run into over a thousand dollars (and probably a lot more) to retrieve my files...maybe! Fortunately, that's when I discovered Data Rescue. I tested the free demo version and found that I could in fact recover some files, so I gladly bought the full product. I was able to save everything and at a fraction of the cost!!! Thank you Date Rescue.

Data Rescue is better then Drive 10 (Micromat) and Norton.
Samuel Kamm

Data Rescue is better then Drive 10 (Micromat) and Norton. Using Data Rescue I could rescue almost all data from a customer and I know it is hard to make a good tool for OS X... Thanks for the good work!

I downloaded the Data Rescue Demo and it worked!
Peter Pardeike

My Firewire disc crashed and it seemed like there was no tool to recover my data. I tried everything, but then I downloaded the Data Rescue Demo and it worked! So I bought the product and got ALL my data back! Great job!

I used Data Rescue to get at drives when no other product will look at them.
Peter D Folk

I use data rescue to get at drives when no other product will look at them. I use a few different programs for testing disks and trying to recover delicate information that for some reason people have not backed up or the drive has failed and I can find it but not access or mount it. Then Data Rescue comes into play and usually it works like a charm. The ease of use is great point and click to recover files you thought you had lost. All in all I think this program is unbelievable. As a reseller here in Australia I am going to start selling this product to my clients.

Just simply amazing!
Nicolas Monette

OH MY GOD!!!!! You just saved the first 5 years of memory of my sons life! Work flawless on deleted files!!!!!! Just simply amazing! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
