Thank you from the very bottom of my heart for saving all my husband's research data. We are Americans, semi-retired field biologists, living in Belize in Central America and are currently doing a lot of research into medicinal rainforest plants and also insects. My husband's computer is a Mac G4 with two hard drives, a 60 Gig master drive and a 150 Gig slave. He had scanned thousands of plants and insects onto the 150 GB drive and had done analysis on them with lots of data.... all with NO backup (unbeknown to me). I do all his geek work as he is not at all savvy about anything but how to run his programs. Without knowing it should not be done, I had put OS X on the slave drive quite some time ago, and although he had been having some problems with freezes etc, he did not tell me and kept putting info on the drive until one day, it would not open! I spent about a week trying to open it to no avail and finally got an estimate from a data recovery company of $2500 to retrieve the data. PLUS I would have to go into the computer and take out the drive and then ship it to the US! The only thing I have ever done with hardware adding memory and a wi-fi change. I was totally freaked. So I started surfing the net and found your company. 99 dollars and 2 days later, I had retrieved all of his data (3 years work), had wiped both his drives, reinstalled his OS where it belonged, upgraded to 10.4, put his data and software back on his machine and he was better than new (needless to say he now has a religion about backing up).

So, I just want to say thanks. Data Rescue II worked beautifully, exactly as it should. Your manual was clear and concise and in a language anyone could understand. When I had a question, I emailed you and got an answer in just a few hours. All I can say is, if you ever get to Belize, just let me know and the drinks are on me!
