Data Rescue is for Mac and Windows Data Recovery

Deleted Data File Recovery

Data Rescue will work even if your hard drive is unable to boot. Data Rescue is highly regarded, award-winning data recovery software for the Mac and PC. Data Rescue is used by data recovery service shops, law enforcement, the U.S. Military and major intelligence agencies. We market it as "data recovery in a box!"

One of the key benefits of using Data Rescue vs other data recovery utilities is it is completely safe to use since it does not attempt to repair the drive it is scanning. Data Rescue is the safest, most powerful software for computer data recovery. Many of our customers were faced with having to spending hundreds of dollars to use a professional data recovery service. Instead they were able to do the data recovery themselves with Data Rescue.

A secondary drive is required to save your recovered files to. Either an internal or external hard drive (USB or FireWire), removable media device (such as a Zip or MO) or a networked drive.

Data Rescue can be used two ways!

(1) As an application

For cases that you need to recover files from a crashed external hard drive, you can install Data Rescue and start up the application. Data Rescue will then scan your problem drive for your files and you can then save them to a secondary hard drive. There is no risk of writing over your files since you will not be recovering files to the drive you are scanning.

(2) Using Included Emergency Boot CD

In the case of your main boot hard drive crashing, due to a virus or you need to recover deleted files, you can use the included emergency boot CD. This allows your computer to boot from the CD and then scan your internal hard drive. Once the scan has been completed you can choose the files you want to recover and then copy them over to your secondary hard drive.

This step avoids the hassle of loading additional software onto your computer and taking a chance of writing over important files or you may not have the ability to install software, due to a virus or drive corruption.

To boot from the emergency boot CD, just insert it into your computer and reboot. Data Rescue will automatically access your drive and then guide you through the data recovery process. You will then select the files you would like to recover and then copy them over to a secondary internal or external hard drive.

Why should a computer user employ Data Rescue 3 or Data Rescue PC3 for hard drive data recovery?

A: Then answer is very simple and straightforward: the software does data recovery properly. When performing a data recovery procedure, it is important to do it in the correct sequence. This ensures the best possible results for a more successful retrieval. Recovery should always be done before repairs are attempted. This is especially important for data loss that is the result of a logical drive failure in which the operating system will not load. Missing data could be overwritten and lost forever if repair is attempted first.

The best procedure when trying to attempt a Windows or Mac file recovery is to use an emergency boot disk. The boot disk will start and run the computer apart from the operating system. This type of recovery does not require a software installation that could potentially overwrite the missing data. Additionally, the emergency boot disc will recognize drives other than the main drive being scanned and prompt the user to save to one of them. This is an important feature because saving back to the affected drive could prove counterproductive. The act of saving to the affected drive could decrease retrieval success through overwriting.
